How long does a cookie last after a click
 

can anyone help me out here

If I send a customer to xwebsite.com but he does not sign up that day and decides to signup a week later will I still get credit for the sale???

even if he has since clicked another affiliates link??

any thoughts would be helpful

A cookie has an expiration date, so it depends on the cookie. If the surfer doesn't clear his cookies, and the expiration date is set years from now, it will only expire years from now.

If you don't set the expiration date, however, it will expire at the end of the browser session.

In Firefox, you can just see for yourself. Something like
Settings > Security > Cookies > Saved Cookies

Edit: In IE, you probably can too, but I have no idea where/how.
