How long does it take for a subdomain to resolve?
 
1 day almost now, thought that got there a lot faster :/

adding a sub means a reboot? never heard that and never had to do that before... so whys that?

Im getting some traffic on the first subdomain and its resolving in Amsterdam but thats all... taking way too long...

Ive added a different IP to the subdomain could that be it?

you need to restart BIND and Apache or wtf you're running. This is sometimes done automatically, sometimes not. You might have screwed up your IP config though.

its real time regardless. was it added threw a cp or manually? you running the dns server or is it via isp?

cool thanks ill check if its done automatically... its an unmanaged server asked for support paid even and they didnt bother to get back so Im stuck with 3 subdomains not resolving... damn

its directadmin I need to get cp directadmin is a pain... its through the server

try removing it and readding it. if the root domain isnt new and the dns info for it hasnt changed all subdomain additions are realtime (1-2min max). directadmin doesnt require you to restart any service when added sub/domains. does it resolve via ping/tracert but not load in the browser? also make sure the server you're adding the table to is the server that handles the dns for the rootdomain

ive done that yday already, removed and readded

bout that root, ive added dutch1.dutchteenworld.com as a subdomain, set it to a different IP but used the same DNS.

Im doing something wrong for sure and its making me nuts I cant find it :/
