This may not offer much in the way of new information. Consider it another willing testimonial to the STU from a very satisfied customer.
Quick setup: I don't own any other FL inserts. The STU is it. It's also my first "sex-toy." One of the reasons I decided to buy an FL in the first place was reviews, and I bought the STU based on the premise of training and the strength of other reviews. FleshJoe's reviews, particularly, were very useful.
I'm not currently involved with anyone. Single. Never married. No girlfriend. I don't "hook-up" for casual sex. With no partners on the horizon, I decided to take the opportunity to achieve two goals with the STU: training for greater endurance with any future female partners, and experiencing a more satisfying orgasm than possible with manual masturbation. My reasoning was that if I'm going to spend this much money on a toy, I better pick one that's worth it.
28 days after receiving my STU, I can safely say I have done so.
Beyond the training aspects, and the impressive review of the physical action provided by the prolific FleshJoe, I felt the STU also offered the combination of vaginal opening and coloration I was most interested in. There are many who enjoy the non-descript opening and/or Ice inserts, but this is a substitute for actual intromission with a woman. When having sex with a woman, I don't actually see myself inside her, I see myself disappear into her. Mocha was also a bit more "real" than Pink. No offense to those who like the Ice or the other colors. The STU seemed to me to be the best of what the FL line has to offer.
First, the obvious. When you receive your STU, take out the shipping rod before you slip anything into it. I'd also recommend rinsing or soaking it to remove the powder that coats it from shipping. I thought my STU was sluffing or something when I had my inaugural use pretty much right out of the box. Didn't really freak me out, but made me wonder.
Since then, I've used the STU both heated and from a "cold" start. Between the two, I'd say that heated is the route of choice. I've heated mine by soaking it in a sink full of hot water for 5-20 minutes finding that 10 seems pretty good. It'll stay warm inside especially toward the middle. After that, and from having started "cold," I've learned that my own body heat can warm it up or keep it warm. If I have the time, I warm it up. If not, starting "cold" will do.
My first use was, as I said, pretty much right out of the box (after removing the PVC shipping rod), with KY warming liquid. That was nice. My first heated experience, however, was an "oh. my. GOD." moment when I hit that warm wet inside. It was the closest I've had to intercourse in a while, and the closest I'm liable to get anytime soon.
There are other threads about proper care. I rinse my STU out after every use. Pour rubbing alcohol after either every or every other use. Towel dry the outside, force a tissue through the inside to pick up some excess moisture. I store mine with the caps off in the bottom of a drawer so that it can dry out. So far this seems to work.
I've also applied cornstarch a couple times in this first month, to try and keep the material supple and from getting tacky. There are a few threads about that, too. I've taken to sticking the insert in a large zip-loc bag, sprinkling in a bit of cornstarch, closing it, and shifting it around to try and coat both the inside and outside.
It's a bit of work, which was honestly a bit of a turn-off when compared to the quick-service/quick-clean-up of using your hand for more traditional masturbation. However, once I hit that OMG moment during my first heated use, and the orgasm that followed later, I went out and scored the cleaning supplies. It's more work than the hand, but the rewards are so much greater.
During my brief stint on these boards, I've read a few threads from guys who felt that the hassle of cleaning up wasn't worth it, that their self-adminstered hand-jobs were more immediately gratifying, or that the FLs or STU just didn't do it for them. Your mileage can and probably will vary.
However, it's worth stating quite clearly again that the STU is a much more fulfilling and engrossing experience than Mr. Hand could ever provide. I've thought about how to describe the differences, and usually it comes down to the difference between just getting off (the Hand) or actually feeling like you've just fucked. Crass, perhaps, but that's the short version.
Sliding into a warm, lubed STU is far more like sliding into a vagina than your hand could ever approximate. Once inside, you're surrounded by soft, "fleshy" goodness. When you move, you're moving inside something that completely envelops you. When you get closer to climaxing, as FleshJoe has said clearly, that's when you notice the particular difference in the STU; the bumps are more intense and practically yank the orgasm right out of you. When I've climaxed, I feel like I've actually come inside something at least remotely close to a woman. I even have to stay inside for a few moments, because pulling out right then has that same, "oh-god" grip on me that a woman would. Pulling out feels more like pulling out of a woman.
Overall, the STU experience is much more like actually having sex. Which is what I bought it for.
I'm still on good terms with Mr. Hand, too. I've gone manual when I needed/wanted to get off in a hurry or on the road. While that still feels good, it's just not as fulfilling as the STU. Or the real thing.
The STU won't replace women for me. It can't. There's just too much that women offer that's too great to consider foresaking. However, if there's a continuum between the hand and the real thing, the STU is much closer to the real thing than the hand could ever be.
That may not mean it's right for you. I am really looking forward to the next 28 days.
