why is it that the egyptians documented most of their existence...but they never documented building the pyramids?

In a few thousand years, people will wonder the same about Area 51

Not built by slaves, they we're somewhat privileged workers - was analogous to a 1930s WPA project. The Great Pyramid is located at the center of the land mass of the earth. The east/west parallel that crosses the most land and the north/south meridian that crosses the most land intersect in two places on the earth, one in the ocean and the other at the Great Pyramid.

i also heard that the sphinx was originally a full figure of a lion, but one of the kings had the head replaced with the newer human image...

Couple weeks ago I saw a documentary where now people are thinking that they were workers, not slaves. The reasoning they gave was pretty logical, but we may never know the truth.

Where were you when this mystery was answered. martians built these things.

I think those guys who put the stargates on earth built them when they were enslaving humans to take them to their homeworld.

The Pyramids were built to honor the Gods, and like whoever said, for bragging rights. The mentality of "we buit something bigger than you, don't fuck with us", applied through ancient times. Same thing happened in Rome and Messopotamia. A LOT of the pyramids though, were for the dead kings, and their treasure. A great example would be the city of the dead..

The Great Pyramid was built over 9000 years ago. It was constructed with such precision that modern engineering cannot come close to.

The pyramids are overrated. Yes some things are still unanswered but they know how they were built. Theres at least one docu shown on national geographic which shows how 1000's of "slaves" built the pyramids with which tools. The slaves wre hardly slaves though. They most likely got paid and were taken care of very well. The found huge camps where they lived and they were fed well.

Pyramids are just like the area 51 stories and the 9/11 conspirary idiotic bullshit. People are simply not informed, stupid and love mystery and start creating stories.

Some say the pyramids in Egypt and from the Mayan era were made for similar reasons. To simulate the underworld where you go when you die (in lieu of a deep dark cave with no protection for the body), but leave a passage out to the sky with a shaft for your spirit to exit and find it's way out. There is at least one zigurat from Mayan times with a hidden burial chamber.
