Ever been hit by DDoS?
Hello Everyone,
I am wondering if you have ever been hit by DDoS and how your provider has handled it? My expirience, has been hit by http port 80 ddos type at 6 mbps,it has took dual xeon server down very fast and my provider was unable to stop it, theplanet.com |
Yes, several times.
|
depending on the sevarity of the ddos a router engineer might have to be called to blackhole your destination IP. there are other ways to prevent it. if its a regular occurance. might want to have a security specialist look into some ways to prevent this. see icq below :)
|
if they are hitting port 80 just change your servers ip
The bad thing is when they ddos your DNS servers |
Got recently attacked. All I ahve to say is that Swiftwill handled this like the server gods they are.
|
We have had serveral customers which were under attack, most of the times we manage to move the attack away from the server and stop it.
|
Spudstr:Fortunaly it has happened only twice :)
AdultEUhost:What do you mean by "moving an attack away from the server" ? If someone is sitting there and watching a victim IP,he will reset his script to target a new IP Long term protection could be a good firewall like Toplayer,Juniper etc |
im cybering with deepsy all the time
does this count ? |
some 2 months ago they took care :)
