Ouch for Blair

big time loss and rebellion from his own party just now when his plan to be able to detain terror suspects for 90 days without charge (by request of the police force who asked for the change) has been defeated.

The slope for his decline has begun.

For those outside of the UK if you don't know the name 'Gordon Brown' become familiar with it.

I'm getting bored of Prime Ministers with five-letter surnames.

I don't think it's by any means certain that Brown will take over from Blair, especially if the Tories elect Cameron as their new leader, who will prove to be far more poopular than the rather dour scot.

This was bound to happen.

They've voted for 28 days.

I agree, imo it is certainly time for Blair to go

Michael Howard's just been on the radio saying Blair should now resign. I think that definitely brings Blair's departure forward.

I can think of a lot of four letter names for most of them.
