Will a contract hold if it's faxed, signed, then faxed back?

I've got a contract that needs to be signed, but the other person is in a different state.

Will the contract hold in court, if I fax it to him, he signs it, and fax it back?

I remeber some sites have an online contract, are there any services like that oyu guys know about I can use for this?

Yes a fax with a visible CLSID number on it is legal ...

Email is NOT

Usually you can get a deal started with a signed fax, but you want to get an original. I hear FedEx is fast.

Email actually is being shown as legal in some places. If you can show that there is intent to buy, a committment to buy, and follow through than email is usable in court as a legal document.

$230 + shipping.

We might be able to workout a deal if you're interested in 10 units.

These are the 4gb version.
On ebay, they usually end up being $240 or so + ridiculous amount for shipping.

I haven't seen a single site that is selling for my price.

Ya interested?

Ya, I have no intention in using email when there's lots of money at stake.

How much for 100? Or how much for a pallet?

This guy is the US, right? 99% of the ipod suppliers are scammers.

I can't disclose the price, but yeah the supplier is legit. Everythings checked out, a guy I'm going through has been working with him for over 6 month without failure.

but just incase, I have a contract with him, so if I don't get my ipods, I take him to court. He owns a nevada based corporation with a warehouse in singapore.

Would you be willing to purchase a pallet for me then take whatever % then sell them to me?

I would also get a picture or vid of them signing it to be sure.

amazing how many 'legal' experts there are here.

Yes, businesses do that all the time.

dready 11-08-2005 02:39 PM

Yes it is legal. The President doesn't even personally sign things with a real pen anymore.

"The Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act was passed to facilitate the use of electronic records and signatures in interstate and foreign commerce by ensuring the validity and legal effect of contracts entered into electronically."

A notoralization and hard copy wouldn't hurt either.

KRL 11-08-2005 02:48 PM

Yes it is perfectly fine.
