Promo video clips (what specs do you look for)
 

Im whipping up a new batch of promo clips for one of our next sites (if you thought brazilbang was good..... whoa!) and I thought it couldnt really hurt to get some current feedback.

I would like to know what you all look for in promo clips. I have my preferences, so do you, but what do the surfers want? I know things are always changing, therefor, so should the quality and size of promo clips...

More people on broadband now, so we can make our clips a little larger, longer, better resolutions, etc...

and mpeg or wmv?

Awhile back, clips were like 3-5 seconds, then 5-8 seconds, I encode usually 12 seconds but thinking about going to 15 seconds.

I would also like to start offering much larger clips for promotion. I know that Im impressed when I see clips bigger than 400x300 res. Even that looks puny on 24" screens.

Even with 400x300, at 15 seconds per clip, the files are quite large (nearly 2mb). 400x300

Maybe short 5 second clips at 640x480? 640x480

Maybe a "low res" and a "high res" option for each clip?
Maybe an "mpeg" and a "wmv" option for each clip?

Give me some input people, lets get more sales!

Damn man.. if I were a submiter or a surfer I'd offer every bit of advice I could. The only thing I can say is, just tweak it until you find what sells best for you.
