Debtors Meeting - Bankruptcy

I've got to go to court on the 28th... I'm not sure what to expect I'm nervous...

Don't sweat it man, people that show up representing themselves get off MUCH easier with the officer of the court than those showing up with lawyers.

I went through that a while ago and it really was much less painful than expected.

oh actually it says, Notice of Chapter 7 Backruptcy Case, Meeting of Creditor, & Deadlines

I have no idea what this is... am I being summoned to court?

You show up, in a room with about 30 other people who also filed bankruptcy. You talk to your attorney, creditors may have lawyers show up. When its your turn you sit in front of the "judge" and they ask questions about your finances. Wether you are able to make payments, what happened etc. The creditors lawyers (if they show up) will ask what you plan to do with whatever the credit is, if you can afford the payments etc. If you have talked to your lawyer, and if your lawyer was any good, you will see that there is no money left to pay the bills or you wouldn't be there.

It's not that big of a deal. You should be in and out from in front of the "judge" in like 5 - 10 mins tops.
