Here are some pictures I took of Belle Isle from across the water, I was standing on te detroit side near Jefferson. These were all taken with my Rebel XT using my 75mm-300mm Lens

rebel xt tho.... hmmm ...looks like any other run-of-the-mill-digi cam.
i guess cuz of the clouds, all the pics look gloomy. I have a canon g5... been wanting to get that XT tho.

well anyway.. pics would have been nicer if the lighting outside was better i guess

Just a quick tip, for scenic shots try to find something in the foreground to add interest to the pic... it will be a bit more difficult with a 75mm lens and 1.6X crop though. :)

These arnt really scenic shots, there just pictures I took of Belle Isle because so much stuff in detroit is changing and there demolishing buildings.

Yes detroit is GHETTO, this is in the middle of the ghetto

I wouldn't get close enough to Belle Isle to take those pics. That place is friggin full of crackheads and hobos.

The architecture in Detroit is awesome though. Some of the old buildings are just cool as hell, it's too bad the city needs to be nuked.

Cool about learning photography though, I have been wanting to take that up as a hobby for some time as well.

acidmax thanks, and where do you live by the way? Ya i didnt actually go on belle isle just across the river from Jefferson, my buddy owns a supermarket right there and I was hangin out so i crossed jefferson for some pics

I live in Central Michigan now in the Clare area. Slower pace, easier living, no hustle and bustle, and beautiful country. I lived downstate my entire life, lived in Novi from about the age of 5 until I moved up here 2 years ago.

Thats cool im about 5 minutes from Novi, ya I ve been up to clare its a very nice place and slow paced compared to over here

It is actually warm in MI still. high 50's low 60's this week. SUrprisingly warm IMO.

Its very warm which is wierd, usually its freezing by now but not this year, it was 62 on saturday

they came out very nice, and they are photos of something that I have never seen.

Detroit should be paved over and we make it one huge amusement park....

MOST of Michigan is as picturesque as one could ever imagine....slow paced life as mentioned, and the cost of living is very reasonable....

Its that colder than any human should have to suffer through from November to April that kind of puts a kink in the place....

Born and raised there... and promptly left at 18

Me and longdongdollars crew are in Windsor just next to the Casino and we have a kickass view of the river and all the skyscrapes in Detroit right from our office. I have been bugging the guys to go over there but if you guys say it's a shithole well then maybe not. :)
