This is my first site developed in flash 8.. I'm still experimenting with the flash detection splash page... If you have the latest flash 8 player, you will automatically be redirected to the main interface... if you have flash 6+ player, it'll prompt you to upgrade (express, right on the site)... and if you don't have flash or you have less than flash 6, you will be prompted to install the flash 8 player at the macromedia site... (Let me know how it goes for those of you with lesser versions of the flash player).

The site isn't entirely done... I had fun though whoring out the new features in flash 8 like the blurs/glows etc, hehe... I'll probably mess around with the music too.

Club Seven

takes forever to load, I guess it's update time.

All of the flash combined is 409kb...and it has a preloader, hehe.

That's not a full flash site...just the index page and header on subsequent pages...why not make it full flash if you're going that route?

New page loads for each navigation item doesn't make sense with what you have started.

I didn't want to fully develop the other sub pages in flash. I would have also had to implimented actionscript so that they could update the site, which is a considerable more amount of work.

hmmm...I don't htink this is neccessarily true...you can use dynamic text and pull it in from an external text file that they can update :2 cents:

they might be cripples and need a small CMS though... although it's not hard to make txt file editor either i guess...

not a bad site.. might be just me but I actually prefer pre-flash 8 blurs. something about manually using two seperate images gave it a nice quality. Flash 8 blurs aren't quite photoshop like. Besides theres not really any point using F8 on commercial projects for 6-12 months until more people have the plugin.

oh, I have those blurs on lower quality I believe, I can make them look probably a lot more photoshop-like by increasing the quality.

and as far as flash8 avaliability is concerned, it's a club site and they really wanted something unique in flash... very large majority of internet users have flash 6+, and the update takes place immediately on the splash page so I don't think it's a problem.
