Yes, im close to my parents. They are cool.

Ross 11-05-2005 04:34 PM

Very close to my mum. I just bought her house off her actually.

My dad, yes I can tell him anything (Apart from my job) but he lives around 40 miles away from me so I don't see him very much. He works a lot and has another family as well.

Jennyfer 11-05-2005 04:36 PM

Closer than i wish, i love them but they still want to control my life.

sherie 11-05-2005 04:37 PM

Yes, step mother included.

Rob 11-05-2005 04:37 PM

My father is my best friend: hands down. I am still extremely close to my parents and see that at least once a week. They are wonderful and I love them a lot.

I do whatever I can to make their lives happy now because they sacraficed a lot to get me to where I am today.

Furious_Male 11-05-2005 04:41 PM

My dad was my best friend as well. He died this past July. Missing him sucks but my family hangs tough for my mother.

If you arent close to your parents at least try to make an effort.

Sorry to hear that, bro. I would seriously lose it if something happened to my father.

adultchica 11-05-2005 04:53 PM

Close to my parents yes. My Dad was cool, being a basektball coach. Most people think "oh that must suck since you were a girl and he wanted to go shoot hoops with the boy". That just wasn't the case. My brother and I both played ball.

We shot hoops until I graduated high school and went to games together and everything. He's a great Dad. Couldn't ask for any better. We still go to games together sometimes. And I still play ball :-)

My mom is pretty cool too.

Manowar 11-05-2005 04:56 PM

yep i am

Sorry to hear that. My mother died at a very young age, infact, today is the 23rd anniversary of her death. You are right, making an effort counts, I don't know where my dad (or us kids) would be if it weren't for family.

MrChips 11-05-2005 04:59 PM

Yes - I'm close to my parents.

And whatever anyone says - family counts.

I dread the day I have them no more.

What he said...

Whenever I run across difficulties and challenges I always think back to the challenges my folks faced and it just steels my resolve. I always keep in mind that whatever I achieve in my life happens because of the sacrifices and hard work of my parents--I just build on the foundations they laid for me, a good upbringing, an education, a work ethic, and a value system. I can't thank them enough for that.

Couldn't agree more - I live 1500km from my parents - A few weeks back Mum got ill and I decided to move back to help out my old man - My Mum, unfortunately passed away unexpectedly last week - Coming back and being able to spend some precious time with her means more to me than anything else -
Both my parents knew what I do for a living and I got full support from them - I feel guilty as hell for living so far away for so many years and not being there to spend more time with them both - I will certainly live much closer to my Dad from now on -
You only ever have one set of parents - Don't let them die before you realise their true value to you.

ssp 11-06-2005 05:11 PM

We keep in touch once every two weeks but I don't see them too often as they live in a different country.

Yngwie 11-06-2005 05:15 PM

I'm close to my mom and dad.. Closer to my dad though. I just finished buying my dad's house (the house I grew up in)

CherryLipsRosa 11-06-2005 05:21 PM

My parents are getting a divorce after 33 years of marriage and that is breaking up the family, but I guess that?s what will make them happy. I am close to both of them and try my best to give back for the great life they have provided me with..

sexyelisha 11-06-2005 05:24 PM

Very :) I love mine very much and they both call me an awful lot to make sure im ok since i moved out :)

Sparks 11-06-2005 05:40 PM

Yes, I am. I see them a few times a week and talk to them on the phone almost daily. I'm lucky enough to only live about 40 minutes away from them.

sniperwolf 11-06-2005 06:46 PM

I can't actually say we are... But I greet them every now and then

Spunky 11-06-2005 06:49 PM

I'm close to my Moms..god bless mom

PixeLs 11-06-2005 07:12 PM

My entire family have a very strong bonding; we always talk and we always make sure we spend quality time with each other once every week.

Tala 11-06-2005 07:16 PM

I was very close to my grandmother who raised me from the time I was 2 months old. My mother had visitation rights and I hate her. She doesn't deserve to breathe the same air that George Bush breathes, never mind the air that I breathe. She's a drug addicted, alcoholic, violent and overbearing egomaniac who needs to spend a few years at hard labor before being summarily bled to death by way of paper cuts and rubbing alcohol.

But the important thing is that I'm not bitter.

lchaim 11-06-2005 07:38 PM

I love both of my parents tons! However, I wish I was a bit closer with my mother. A lot of strain occured during my youth as I was primarily raised by my paternal grand mother.

My father are closer to the very good friend level that I would not give up for the world.

One of my goals for this year is to get closer to my mother.

:thumbsup

tony286 11-06-2005 08:09 PM

reed_4 11-06-2005 10:41 PM

Very much close, I still live with my father though my parents are separated I still get to see my mom.

tristan_D 11-07-2005 06:34 PM

I have had my share of worst times with my parents, back during my rebelious teen years. Now I have learned to understand them better. I still get to see them on special occassions
