Trailer Trash

Hello, I am new to posting on these boards, but here it goes. My name is Jody and I am currently working with the Hman, aka Harlan, in sunny hurricane ravaged South Florida. We finally are getting our power back after more than nine days and I am able to live in the modern age again. It is really something when the power is out for a long period when you depend on it for almost everything. It is starting to now get better here with the lights back on and time to start up the porn machine again, because you know? we take our porn very seriously and porn must go on! Even if you have been pounded by two direct hits from Katrina and Wilma!

Now that the lights are back on and the cameras are rolling again, I have been handed a box load of content that I need to make into some really hot thirty second clips to be placed on the tour section to entice surfers to become members. So I ask myself how do I turn good content into even better trailers? The first time I did a trailer it was in school for the film Gladiator, fairly easy task in that you would mostly cherry pick the best spots, editing the most action packed scenes into thirty second spots. But blue movies are different with different audiences and dynamics. There has always been a debate on whether to put the obligatory ?money shot? in the trailer. I personally think it is best to end as the model is breathing heavy so you know what?s, errr, cumming but entice a membership purchase if they want the full meal deal. Researching all those free tour sections of websites late at night, I have seen some trailers that indeed give away so much they eliminate the reason to buy and others that show less skin then you can see on a good episode of Nip/Tuck.
Whose trailers and sites have the best balance and convert the best for you?

Hi Jody, welcome to GFY. And good to read that you're back in the modern world. I think every site does their trailers different I have seen "money shots" on trailers and I think you can do it but not fully. The style of editing is also important if you go with fast cuts (MTV style as I call it) and you don't really give the viewer the chance to "get off" on them then it can't hurt to partially put a "money shot" in there imho. If you make a trailer that has nice slow dissolves and builds up to something then I wouldn't give any of the "money shot" away at all. Then it's more a matter of building up to that sale.

I just launched a site and I edited some trailers myself. I just launched it last Friday so I can't really tell you yet if these will do good for me. It's just testing for me right now. Feel free to check them out and tell me what you think as one editor to another. http://www.mypobj.com
