I haven't seen any posts on the verizon forums about you needing there phone service to get Fios. If you have a phone with them - they bill your phone bill, if not they need a CC.

i've been laying lots of fiber the last couple weeks myself.....

but i'll credit that to the taco bell i ate.

Service kicks ass, also upgrades your voice connection to fiber instead of copper...

Yeh people have said the digital quality of the phone service is real good compared to Pots.

Did they put the box and backup power in your garage??

I will probably have to wait until next yr before it reaches us here in the east portland area :(

Fiber was laid in our area ages ago.

I like lots of connections.... when one goes down, Ive got a backup.

About 1 week after we got the fiber installed....some jackass came by and cut our cable lines in the ground, in 3 places. Ive since had it fixed, but thats fucked up. heh ehe fuckers :disgust

why do they lay fibers in rural america? that won't pay out for verizon.

why not? verizon just bought MCI. the entire alter.net backbone is at their disposal now. bandwidth charges? hah thank god i'll be getting discounts on Fios uunet->mci->verizon employee.. whoop de doo.
