Calling out CCBill

So I get this email today from CCBill saying that someone tried to change info on my account (it wasnt me).

I call ccbill and they research it and then tell me that they can't give me the info of the person that sent it in! It's my fucking account, how could they not give me info of a person trying to change shit on MY account? That is just fucked up.
CCBill site owners beware.

Here is the letter that I got....

Dear Client,

We show a name address change request form being received today via fax, however we also show that the names on the form and that of the account do not match. At this time no changes have been made to the account.

Please reply if you have any questions.

Thank You,

CCBill Client Support Specialist

At least good no harm was done :)

Well what if it was something as silly as an honest webmaster who transcribed their account number on the fax they sent in?

On the darker side if it was someone trying to steal your account. They caught it and nothing was changed. Do not see why you would need the info when it was them (ccbill) that was attempting to be defrauded and thus would be a legal matter for them and not you.

Yes, but what if it went through?
You are missing the point.

And if someone was changing the address to get my checks? I dont like the fact that they won't tell me who the person was.

I understand the frustration you must feel, though what can you do about it if you do get the name?

Calling out a processor you do business with and you use to process for your paysite on a public industrial forum is far from professional.

Just be thankful that they were able to spot the problem, I don't think they really need a reason to give you any of those infos that you've ask for.

Think about it... I have 9 sites, many of them have "splits" with partners (models) etc. What if one of them is trying to change info to get 100% or whatever. My point is just that, if anyone tries to access and change things on my account I should be able to find out who it is. They faxed in a form, they have the person's name etc.

I guess they can't tell you due to privacy issues. If you are that worried, ask that the details be passed over to law enforcement.
