If You Find a Cell Phone?
 

My Cousin Found a cell phone and is asking me if all that has to be done is put her sim card in it to then make it hers?Is that all that has to be done or is there a built in shut off or tracking for a lost or stolen phone?

I thought you were asking if we would return a cellphone if we found one..I suppose just insert her sim but I'm not really sure..

no, each phone has its own UIN that is registered to the phone number assigned to the user.

I'd suggest just turning the phone in to the cops or something

It it seems like there is no chance of finding the owner then keeping it is the next best thing you could do. :winkwink:

over here we can easily switch sims and use them in any sim phone

yes, you can switch the sim card to another phone.... BUT, the phone itself still has a UIN which is transfered to the switch when you make a call, the switch then determines if the phone is a valid and open acct and then either lets the call through or gives a error message.

the sim card simply holds your personal info. (numbers, photos, ring tones and such)

btw, I used to work on the intranet for AT&T wireless (now cingular), you know the one the tech support reps use to give you craptastic customer service
