Just checked your dmoz site thingy and it pissed me off that AFTER you registered for free you have to pay 99 bucks to see the lists.
Is this a shitty way to collect emails? Im sure 90% of the people wouldnt sign up if you tell them upfront you have to 99 bucks.

It isn't setup that way intentionally. Its a remnant of when the site was 100% free.

Right smack dab in the middle of the top half of the page, where it has a paragraph or two dated JAN 2, it does explain the cost.
