Who wants to buy full DVDs for their sites? (PICS)
 

We are about to launch into the DVD market, in fact already launched onto the UK market, so we will be offering full DVDs for site owners to put up on their sites.

What we need to know is the resolution/size/format they require.

So give us some help in getting you the best stuff.

I like the following 3 formats for my sites:
WMV9 DVD quality setting (640x480, 1000Kbps)
WMV8 350Kbps 320x240
MPEG1 750Kbps 320x240

I think, DVD is universal format. But it is better to offer possibility of various formats. What kind of software do you use. I can give you contact for a good postproduction studio in Prague, who works for the public TV broadcaster Czech TV.

We're doing them as this at present.

MPEG-720x576/25fps,
WMV-384x288/25fps,
DivX-384x288/25fps

Not sure what WMV version it is though.

Will look into it further, this could be a nice earner.

The DVD sales will be handled by the distributors. What I'm looking at doing is offering the DVD to our paysite clients so they can offer it to their members downloaded via thier site.

Would be interested in the post production studio in Prague, only one I know is Polas.

I took the covers around the Berlin Venus Show and they were very impressed with our covers, it's covers that sell the DVD.

Just our nomal content in the hands of a guy who can design.

use torrent. download a bunch of DVD's then make a site and sell them. week later watch a bunch of FBI agents knocking on your door... I would assume so..... If your single and want some one fresh, that could be a start. Who knows.. maybe a love of your life will come...... I think I lake beer in my system and I am not functionning properly.

Just not sure if it will sell as well as people think.

The problem with "Niches" is the demand for the content never reflects the money earnt. There is supposed to be an enormous demand for boy/girl and especially teen boy/girl. Truth is sales on it are very slow and though it has long term legs the real money is in shooting solo girl or lesbian.

Boy/girl teens. Many of these shoots were supported by the magazine sets we sold, no magazine sales no shoot.

It's all about the money.

No encoding required for me just the dvd's

Not sure at the moment, we are looking at what is required at present.

But I think the price will depend on the length of the DVD and the content of it. Probably $150 to $250.

Are you in any of the scenes paul?

That would increase value to me ;)

The old man/teen niche is a very good one and under exploited in my opinion. The days of the Internet being only for the under 25s went a long time ago.

I'm in a lot of the stuff you see above, talking or playing with the girls. A harder version of "Excuse Me" but not fucking the girls.

For me a general guideline would be
$150 i'll probably buy all dvd licenses you have
$200 I might buy a few titles that suit my niches
$250 I won't buy any(To many other companies offering far lower prices for similar content)

The future is buying what converts and retains, not what fills a space.

Also the cheaper it is the more sales, so obviously exclusivity is not an issue.

It might be better for me financially to sell them at $150, probably get 30 sales at $150 in the first year and only 15 at $250.

When you buy DVD content are you getting it ready for web use or just the DVD to rip yourself?
