I just heard from a friend in Pakistan
 

I'm not going to harp on a subject.
A friend I made in Pakistan called me. (He is a doctor)

Off the record;

He told me that there is a major problem with people "selling orphan children" in pakistan now. Children as young as 5 years are being sold. And there is nothing they can do to stop it.

The Pakistan goverment is on it's knees and there isn't enough money to pay it's military to keep peace and prevent this activity. "Un-officially" some agencies are helping defray the govermental problems. However, it is like trying to stop a tsunami with a toothpick.

It just isn't enough.

I have seen the problems myself and I am begging on behalf of all that is sacred that people please give all they can.

My facts may not be 100 percent factual because they are only commning from other people.

But I was told that a 7.6 earth quake is the same as three - 20 mega ton nuclear bombs being dentontated above Los Angeles. Even the United State could not recover from such devestation without the help of the outside world.

I am begging, pleading and asking that if you can even spare so much as 1 dollar you contribute it.

Shit like this is happening in at least 50% of the world, and the Governments are all crippled by not having enough money.

I think evryone should help out, but we have to think of our own country first. I think trouble is just around the corner.

Helping yourself first is correct. But you have to be careful because if you only think of yourself... one day when you really need a helping hand. You might find yourself all alone.

I guess goverment investment in education and not weapons is a bad thing. Afterall, I still made a mistake in a language that is obviously not my native tounge.

But this is petty.
There are people suffering and most people only want to argue politics and govermental policies.

It isn't just this forum. In fact it is general society that does the same. I'm amazed that people are willing to let entire families suffer or die. All because of some stupid ideology.
