My house is under attack from fireworks..not fun
 

I just got back in from a halloween thing and as we are walking back to my house we see a streak of gold in the air and then a huge bang about 200ft from me.

My group of flats are across the streat from a travelers (gypsy) camp and this is the time of year where it is too damn easy to get fireworks in the UK. Well, these jackasses are aiming their fireworks at our flats. In the time it took me to get to our lift and down the balcony to my door two fireworks actually landed on other people's balconies and went off. Then when we got into the house the place right next door to mine had atleast five land one after another and go off in a major way.

Thank god these places are concrete and not wood. I already have an irrational fear of fireworks that stems back from early childhood without having them actually aimed at my house.

I just called the police..who knows if they will actually do anything.

Its been like that here for the last 2 weeks.

It should be Nov 5th and thats it - none before and none after.

Fucking 3 or 4 am and they are at it. The post box down the road has been burnt out twice already as well.... little fuckers need locking up.

I try to say apartment and elevator when I am back home..though for some reason when I am here I call money dollars but when I am back in the States I call it pounds.

Damn right I did..when someone is aiming explosives at your house what would you do? These aren't little crackers.

The best thing to do is wait until signing on day (welfare day) when the "tarmac cacers" are all out then just go over the road and set fire to their caravans. Those things go up like tinderboxes and ends the problem straight away.

I feel bad for the horses they have over there. They must have been hating that noise. I heard the police around the neighborhood after I called but I have no idea what happened. I do know that I spent part of my morning scrapping baked beans off my windows.

Yeah...that really would make me the talk of the town.

If that happened here, you could walk out on your balcony and start randomly firing at the gypsy camp until it stopped. As a matter of fact, if I had a camp of gypsies living across from me, I'd probably fire at them even if they weren't shooting fireworks. I've seen the Dateline undercover specials... those people steal way too much shit. :warning

The flaw in that is that they would all have guns too.

actually, they probably do have a gun or two. Gun crimes are on the rise in the UK

That sucks Sarah. When I was younger some kids aimed fireworks at our apartment. We called the cops and they visited us. After like 5min they started again, the cops took these punks red-handed :)

For americans, this is hard to imagine. Gypsies? horses? camp? We do not have anything like that here.

They have been there as long as I have lived here (over 9 years). They have it made like it is a trailer park or something but they don't own the land. Yet, they have been there for decades..go figure.

Not to my door (though it was 1am when I called them) but I did hear sirens about 15 minutes later.

I livein the city...yet, sometimes I wake up and they have put a horse on the grass in front of my apartment block to let it graze. Not land they own or pay rent on, of course.

you called the police? you should have called the fira department instead.

nothing was visibly on fire...I was more interested in getting them to stop. They were doing it again last night. It is only going to get worse this week.

These aren't sparklers. They are major fireworks being aimed at people and their houses. They are essentially bombs.

I think this thread needs pictures of the gypsy community and such ( i'm curious now)

I don't really have a camera now but (died and I haven't replaced it) but when my flat mate comes home I will get him to take pics.
