Yesterday I watched ALL of the Lord of the Rings...

Back to back to back, with a one time 30 minute intermission between The Two Towers and The Return of the King. All extended editions. Took about 11 hours total.

It seemed like forever and I felt like I wasted the whole day, but it was fun. Towards the end of The Return of the King I was looking at a scar Frodo had gotten from the Nazgul at Weathertop and I had to laugh because it seemed like ages ago when I saw it happen, when really it was just a few hours before.

I need a break from movies now, but in another thread I saw someone mention watching a Band of Brothers marathon. I'll have to do that next, fantastic series.

wow, that is a waste. Good times :thumbsup

Niklas 11-01-2005 06:47 PM

and then you have to watch all 6 Star Wars back to back :winkwink:

MikeVega 11-01-2005 06:52 PM

I've seen all three but i could never watch all in a row ..... that's fucking nuts ... :Hollering

Mr.Nice Guy 11-01-2005 06:56 PM

I have a hard time watching them... honestly

quiet 11-01-2005 06:57 PM

they had this thing in Whistler awhile back where you could pay single ticket price and they ran all 3 lotr's in a row without a break. no way i could handle that.

je_rome 11-01-2005 07:28 PM

I think that wasn't really a waste of time. I love Lord of the Rings too! But I like it much better in the books. Well, good for you. I think it's a good idea to watch a Band of Brothers marathon next.

reed_4 11-01-2005 08:03 PM

LOTR & Band of Brothers are really a hit and earned a lot of $s. :thumbsup

redfalcon 11-02-2005 05:47 AM

Bought LOTR Trilogy for USD10 and watched it whole day a month ago. Also bought The Matrix Trilogy of the same price and watched it the next day. :thumbsup

You're not the first... did it the day the extended edition of The Return of the King came out. Absolutely, Ace, gotta be with the right ppl to spend 12 hours cooked up in a living room. Hahhaha

When I went to the openning night of the return of the kind they had people that had been at the theatre since like 2pm watching the previous 2 movies. the premier was at 10pm. It was nuts, they looked so cracked out, and when the movie I attended ended, they were in tears. it was ridiculous

Ross 11-02-2005 10:04 AM

You really did this? And you didn't contemplate suicide? Lord Of The Rings sucks so much!

CrazyNakedChick 11-02-2005 10:12 AM

Hehehe, awesome. That's the best way to really sink into a saga like that.

Starting next week I'm doing the Star Wars series, watching one each night in their intended proper order starting with 1/I. Way too much for one day, but one a night I can handle and still be productive. :)

SykkBoy 11-02-2005 10:29 AM

I did the LOTR marathon with a 30 minute break between each flick...my 10 year old son kept up, but my 5 year old was bitching halfway through Two Towers

The Ghost 11-02-2005 10:38 AM

Awesome. I invited a friend to see the third one when it came out and she said she hadn't seen the first two yet. She said she'd watch the first two before we watched the movie. So when I picked her up to go to the movie she informed me she watched both that same day.

I think she's permantly living in middle earth now :1orglaugh
