How to improve my English?
 

I have been wanting to improve my English proficiency for some time now, but I'm having trouble coming up with ways to do that - ways which don't involve moving to a different country, that is. I do lots of reading and writing in English, so more practice in those areas probably wouldn't make much of a difference.

Does anyone have any useful suggestions?

Use the phone instead of ICQ. Might cost a bit, but you will learn it quickly.

Practice as much as possible and talk to english people

Maybe an English tutor? At least someone you will speak English with regularly. Perhaps an online contact using Skype.

In professional, competitive environments, even a small handicap can have significant effects. On boards like GFY it doesn't matter much if your English skills aren't flawless, of course, but there are other situations in which not being a native English speaker is a strong disadvantage. Needless to say, I don't like being at a disadvantage in business :winkwink:

Actually, GFY is a good place to practice informal, casual English. With "informal" and "casual" to be taken in the widest possible sense :winkwink:

I just wonder why nobody here, is telling him that his english is very good.

He is writing like a native english speaker and using complicate vocabulary.

1) watch movies that have subtitles in your language
2) find a website dictionary where you can get words spelling in either way english -your language

3) this one belongs with category 2 - post on english/US message boards around subjects that interests you, its alot easier posting and acting if you like what you read
