Star Trek is DEAD....I'm soooo depressed...
No Star Trek tv shows or movies...None in sight...Scotty passed away and now Sulu comes out of the closet....
A franchise that has ridden high for almost 40 years is like gone... Bring back Spock... |
TNG on spike is still around. thats the only one i really got into anyways so i could careless that deepass9 is gone
|
I was kind of into Enterprise for a bit. But that mostly because I like Scott!!
The problem with the Star Trek franchise is it got too... "Feel Good" and "Politically correct." Perhaps if they created a Gay Klingon and he declared war on the empire with the help of a bunch of other gay klingons. I could just see it now.... "Ka plath!! You filthy son of a dragon bum-jamer. I will split your anus all the way to your skull." response: " I am Daggie, son of Ejaculon. I will break your teeth with my massive battalith. And we will see who has the bigger sword." |

There better be another TNG sequel where they bring back Data. That was just too fucked up how they killed him in the last one.
|
They are making a new movie called Star Trek: The Beginning
its more about the beginning of the federation and less about star ships and space exploration. I think they start shooting in April of next year. |

that's the first time I laughed about anything that has anything to do with startrek |
enterprise drove Star Trek into the ground with it crappy stories.
The funny part was that there were two proposals put forward to paramount after ST:V went off the air. ST: Realitivity: Which was supposed was supposed to be about Future star Fleet crew correcting temperal incursions and restoring history back to normal. It was supposed to mix live future shots with the actor inclusion edit job that was done in ST:DS9 tribbles in time eps. And ST: Enterprise: which was supposed to be a true prequel of the federation that would explain all of the referenced issues from all the other star trek series (what started the klingon/federation war, section 6, why the prime directive etc) Instead the brilliant exec at Paramount decided to combine the two into one series. That time travelling/zindi crap just wasted the first 3 years of what would have been a great series. When they finally got around to being a true prequel (finally got good) they cancelled the show |

If they can still make money out of it then it will come back.

Star Trek gotta be the most boring peice of shit out there, I'm fucking glad they cut it out
|
They really messed up on this last one besides that girl :)

This is why Star Trek is dead:
(quality writing, characters...less scifi, more drama...and you all know how well drama sells...) http://img310.imageshack.us/img310/6271/bsg5vi.png |
Star Trek was dead along time ago to me.

I just couldn't get into Enterprise.... The opening theme set me off on a bad foot and I kept waiting for the hologram dude to pop out and start talking to the captain.
|
StarTrek will not be revived until some original writer(s) start to take it seriously.
You have stargate (8 to 9 seasons) and battlestar not too mention all the other sci-fi series who have a great writing team and idea. Enterprise started to come out of the gate well - but sadly they simply cost too much to do. |
I got addicted to
Stargate SG1 and Stargate Atlantis,, way better! |
What pisses me off is I've got friends who've worked on the Star Trek series' and they don't listen to me! They don't even listen to themselves!
I live in a 'Star Trek' neighborhood where lots of the actors live or frequent the shops. DS9 was too, too violent. These space shows are wayyyy too violent. On DS9, if they didn't kill a billion people a week it was like empty. Although DS9 had some very, very, funny episodes and some real scary shit. Voyager had a few episodes that were ghoulish as fuck. Voyager gave me more nightmares than all the other Trek shows and episodes combined. Especially when the Borg Queen couldn't find out why the drones were rebelling and she had them beheaded and lined up like old burnt out carbeurators! They should have left Trek alone and not on a cliffhanger like they did after DS9 and Voyager. They should just reissue a new Trek show covering the ground where they left off with the Borg and shit. |

I was a huge fan of the original when I was growing up, and I liked TNG a lot. Just never could get into any of the other series, I did give each of them a try.
I watched Stargate weekly until it left Showtime then missed so many episodes I was lost, then the episodes I saw didn't really click with me like the earlier years. I catch the older reruns once in awhile but I have too many other things to watch that usually grab my attention first. |

Considering all of the references to origin issues that were brought up in all the different series you could have done 5 years of stories that explained why the federation is the way it was. You could get star trek fans by advertising how enterprise was going to explain how something happend and taking clips from the original shows to make the point. Imagine an add running with ST:NG featuring picard saying that first contact with the klingons started the 200 year civil war. And then saying that enterprise was going to explain what was done wrong. Or the story that explained why the romulans split from the vulcans or the mistake that cause ta' pel to create the prime directive. or the creation of section 31 when the federation charter was created and the slow progressive change from a top secret branch of star fleet security into the clandestant organization it was in DS9. It should have been a prequel show the problem was combining the two shows added that time travel crap to the methos and killed the entire franchise. |
The only way to revive Star Trek is to bring in what made it a hit in the first place: Kirk and Spock.
They've gotta come up with a big movie where Kirk and Spock come back to interact with the latest Trek crews to save the Universe or something. DS9 was like WWII on crack. Voyager became a favorite because they actually went where no one had gone before. Not the same old planets all over again. Robert Beltran who played Chakotay told me it was due to oversaturation and I can agree. Yet to me, the people running the Star Trek franchise should step down and let someone else take the reigns. When I was a kid we would dream of living in the 24th Century, but after TNG, DS9 and Voyager, the 24th Century is a far, far more dangerous place than what we have now! Sheeesh, all the space battles and death, death, death. Star Trek doesn't need all that. The best episodes were the ones that were funny or had a simple drama/dilemma like 'City on the Edge of Forever'. |
wow star trek.... that even worse plus nerdier then star wars :1orglaugh

The episode also featured one of my all-time favorite actresses:thumbsup http://holyrolypoly.com/images/city.jpg Some other STTOS episodes that quickly come to mind that for me shine as brightly: Shore Leave (predecessor to the holodeck :winkwink:) I, Mudd (Harcourt!!! You good for nothing...thing...thing..thing.thing:evil-laug) A Piece of the Action ("gangster" episode) Assignment Earth (1968 Earth) The Savage Curtain (Kirk met Abraham Lincoln) ...and of course, The Trouble with Tribbles :upsidedow |

DS9 had the Ferengi. Some of the best drama and comedy I've seen on tv came from some of the Ferengi episodes. The Grand Nagus is a fucking riot. In the episode "Siege of AR 15" when Quark's nephew had his leg blown off and he lamented and turned around and blew one of the Jem H'adar away was classic. When Quark's mom Noogie was kidnapped and Quark had to band together a bunch of Ferengi like the Magnificent Seven to rescue her was a freakin' scream. Voyager had more Q episodes that were great. Voyage is a favorite because the crew really had to do Trek stuff to stay alive. They couldn't rely on the Federation. Episode where B'elanna Torres had a hallucination that her mother was dying and they went into the Klingon religion was my favorite. I'm pissed they dropped everything after Star Trek 10 which was weak. They had better tv episodes than the last two Star Trek flicks. Bring it back to the 24th Century or 25th Century and keep rolling. |
