I wasn't able to get really good pictures.

I had just gone to bed around 2 am and that's when I heard the *SNAP* of the large rat snap trap. It was still alive and I heard other comotion as it was scurrying around. I immediately woke my girlfriend. She was like, 'wtf'! 'We got, em! We got, em!', I yelled.

We got dressed and ran down stairs. We weren't sure where it would be because it was hanging around a couple of different closets. I ran for my gloves, a flashlight, and the long handled shovel that I had been keeping in the corner of my office for when this glorious day would arrive.

I checked the top of the basement stairs, no luck. All the glue traps were in check and undisturbed. We then checked the other closet where the large snap trap was set. We saw the unset rat trap, upside down, again no luck. Where the fuck did this thing go. I then quickly checked behind the washer in the bathroom, which is adjacent to the closet with the large snap trap, but I did not see anything. We were discourgaged and disappointed. We had missed him. He got away.

I kept thinking, how did he set off the large trap and get away. The sounds we had heard indicated it was caught in something. I decided on one last check behind the washer. I stuck my head behind the washer and shined my flashlight one last time. There it was. Two naked, ugly, enormous feet and an equally nasty looking long tail stuck to the glue trap. I turned my head and looked downward. 'We got, em', I said.

'No way, where'.

'Behind the fucking washer! We got em'.

Now what. Was it still alive? Was it moving? Was it going get free of the glue board with only its ass sticking out of the wall?

I slid out the washer and dryer. Bingo! Part of it's tail was missing. Same fucker that chewed part of its tail off. This was good.

After realizing that I had turned into a little schoolgirl bitch, I grabbed another glue board and dropped it on the rat. I did not want this fucker to get free. 'How the fuck do we get it out of the wall? I'm not touching that fucking thing!', I cringed.

'Get the fucking fireplace tongs and pull it out! You have to do this! Be a man! I'm not doing it!', my girlfriend shouted. It worked. She pissed me off enough to clamp the tongs onto this things body.

I started to pull, but it was stuck in the wall pretty good. I gave a couple of more tugs and it started to slide out of the wall. Almost there, another good tug and the fucker was free of the wall. It was dead. The snap trap must have gotten just enough of him and the glue board kept him from scurrying too far up the wall, where it would have eventually died and made my house smell like decaying death for probably two weeks.

There was blood on its head and mouth area. 'Let's get the camera', my girlfrend said.

I was thinking the same thing, ?let?s get the camera?. And so I did.

Damn nice grab. Are you guys in a house or apartment?

We are in a house. The house is the one that my girlfriend grew up in and we ended up buying it and moving in about 1 year ago.

Growing up here, she has never encountered any trouble or has ever seen any rats.

One thing that may be the cause is a stone wall that a neighbor replaced. That's about the only thing I can think of where they would be coming from.
