How did booble.com survive

I'm working on a new website with a domainname similar to booble.com but than the b's are g's and the o's are different. Can they sue me? Or how did booble.com survive? And what are my chances? I have the name know for a couple of years but I didn't do a lot with it. Now I want to setup some kind of tgp on it! (the tgp will become very refreshing)

maxjohan 10-30-2005 03:36 AM

Do we need another TGP?

:helpme

RSD 10-30-2005 03:44 AM

Yes.. the world is demanding for more NICE tgp's and not TGP's with shitty cj .

The one I have in mind has some differences. I am working on a "maybe" good converting tgp.

I don't want to discuss her if there are too much tgp's.. it's about the domain name i want to use. Please open your own thread if you want to discuss about the quantity or quality of the TGP's.

I vote for another TGP!! and blog :)

RSD 10-30-2005 04:19 AM

Please people will you please be serious and please stay ontopic.

I really need some feedback on the domainname and I really want to know how Booble.com did survive.

BRISK 10-30-2005 04:24 AM

Why shouldn't booble.com survive?

RSD 10-30-2005 04:26 AM

Well because of the domainname which is very similar to google.com

If i have a domainname like g**gle.com

Do I have a chance of being sued and i so what are my chances.

BRISK 10-30-2005 04:38 AM

Booble is parody, it doesn't sound like your site will be, so you'll probably be sued and your bank account raped. Enjoy.

RSD 10-30-2005 04:53 AM

So I'd better take another domainname..

I have a better idea. You could do what so many other GFY people do and brag about your non-existant team of high-priced lawyers who will bury anyone who dares challenge you. :thumbsup

RSD 10-30-2005 05:08 AM

Well i don't have much money, but im working on it, and im not bragging about it. So please don't sue me for bragging ;-)

I just need to know these things for in advance. I know have a ringtone website running on it. But this sucks. Well i already have another domainname in mind... maybe less interesting for publicity but than i have to work a shitload to get my TGP in the top 10 ten of TGPs worldwide ;-)

http://www.checkdomain.com/cgi-bin/c...n=googhole.com

i once owend this site and put a fake tgp on it (as in not updated.. just a few links)
i got sued within a month

xclusive 10-30-2005 08:06 AM

make it a blop part blog part tgp

HDADULT 10-30-2005 08:25 AM

It seems to me that if google did have a case, they would wait until its profitable
or has something of value to offer them before they move on it. Why would someone
waist all that effort on something to be taken away is my question and did they
consult a lawyer about it...then its a pissing match between lawyers and google probably has the Johnny Cockring of IP lawyers.

just make your site dude. I highly doubt they'd sue, because it is a completely different name.

look at it objectively, courts do that too (at least thats whats expected of em)

too many peeps are scared of big companies when in reality they have a very strong case... but if youve came to a money agreement, well thats another story.. that doesnt prove whos right.

RSD 10-30-2005 08:55 AM

A long time ago i had a gay search site on it.. but i didn't put a lot of effort on it because i didn't have enough and the right content. Nowadays it is a ringtone site. I have about 3 or 4 sales a day not that much.. but now i have a good plan for that site... ;-) (You'll hear of it within a few weeks).

But now i am doubting about the name i should use... I can use another name and may be no publicity just hard work to become a good tgp or i can try to catch some publicity with this name with the possibility of getting sued.

if the *'s are 0's, then yes - you're in trouble.

If they're anything else you got yourself a shitty domain.

I got dicked by Google, Inc over a domain, and, after pleading my case to them, I stopped responging to their emails, and as I'm unlocatable, their spam stopped coming. I still own the domain.

captain we need some blogs

RSD 10-30-2005 11:01 AM

How about some nice combo's? It's not gaygle.. but some else.. but they sound good..

Its not that the domainname is worth money because im not a domain reseller. I just want a name which sounds good and on which i can build my fresh tgp..

SmokeyTheBear 10-30-2005 12:06 PM

i always thought someone should start a porn site using the google's name but swapping it around so its not infringing..

Like Go Ogle Women.com
go ogle sex.com

RSD, You seem like a knowledgeable guy, so it strikes me as INCREDIBLE that you would post here for an answer, rather than just asking me, the creator and owner of Booble.com. I've been a registered member of YNOT for over two years. Also, my name and email address are not hard to find on the Booble.com site. Here is what I can say: Booble is no longer a parody of Google; we do not have a dispute with Google. Quite the opposite, we have a deal with them.

luv$ 02-07-2006 01:21 PM

What about diddle.com?

Can they sue me then?

jt420 02-07-2006 01:29 PM

Booble has some great people behind it and is much more then just a blatent parody of google. Their traffic does fantastic with me.

Sorry I know you didn't wanted to hear about TGP's but saying something like "the world is demanding for more niche TGP's" is a bit short sight to say the least...
