How fast can a basic 2ghz server serve up video?
How fast could your basic server serve up files? I think it should be able to handle 10 mbit, but not sure. .
|
Hmmm -- no hardware specs, no BW specs, none of really anything...
I'll guess 383 minutes. |
2Ghz with 512ram can saturate a 10Mbit line easily serving up videos.
|
could a 2ghz with 512 megs saturate a 100mbit line?

looks like fdc priceing no way you will ever hit 20mbs even on this server if its from fdc or one of thier resellers. |
Why is that? it is from FDC if you can recommend anyone else, let me know.
We need either 10mbit servers or 100mbit. . 100mbit per server would definetly be better if they can handle 100mbit. |
Sound be pretty fast
|
That could do 10-20 mbps easily!!! Back in 1999 I only had 300 mHz and it was doing around 6 mbps. If you want to do 100 mpbs, you need around 2 gigs of ram do reduce harddrive swapping. You also need to optimize the OS and apache...
