Who here edits with Avid
 

Im thinking of learning it, my friend said if I learn it he can get me some freelance mainstream editing work. Was curious how the learning curve is ?

it is easy peasy japanesey... same as almost all editing soft wear ... it's not the actual physical editing that's tough ... it's knowing how and why to edit ..that takes time to get good at ... you have to have some sort of vision of what you want it to look like in the final run ... best is to shoot the content your self and then you know what, why and when your going to do your magic ...get on the same mental page as the people your going to edit for and you will make decent product ... not knowing what they are looking for and you can really fuck some shit up ... IMHO...

Cool thanks I have been editing for a while but I use Vegas and to work with them they are a avid shop so I have to use avid. This is mainstream so they shoot it in the field and then bring it back to the editor.
