paradise/hell, if God exits.....
Ok, I want to keep this thread pretty serious. What do you think about this. When we are born, we are neutral, i mean we are nor good nor evil, we cant think. As we grow, we learn whatever we pass by, we learn with our environment and the people who surround us.
Situation 1 We are born in a criminal family, raised by serial killers. All our life, since 1 year old, we are taught that we have to steal and kill people to make money and to live, and thats the way it should be, and thats the good thing. From 3-12 year old, all we watch is people killing people, and we are taught doing it. Later we practice it and actually kill some people, till we become adults. After that, we are forged and kill for a living. We are evil killing machines. Situation 2 We are born in a wealthy family. We are taught the good manners. To treat people good, to be honest, to never steal, and to work hard to get what we want. Blah blah blah, we grow as adults and become good and honest citizens and live till we die doing only good stuff. Now the question. If paradise and hell exits, obviously, we think that the kid in Situation 1 goes to hell for killing people, and viceversa for Situation 2. But if we think about it. If the SAME kid in situation 1 grew in Situation 2, there is no doubt he would be a good kid. So why should he go to hell? He was just UNLUCKY to be born in a fucked family. Should he go to hell because he was just unlucky? I mean, all the killers in the world were born in some fucked environments, its not really their faults. Ok, now if you think when we are BORN evil/good and its in our genes. Even then, if we are born evil and become killers, its not our fault, we have been just unlucky to be born that way. Why should we go for ETERNITY in hell for something we are just not responsible of????? So do you think, according to the reasonning above(which in my opinion reflects reality), that the killer in Situation 1, that was raised by criminals, should go to Hell for ETERNITY?? |
ya know what? i wrote a nice dignified response, however, i'd like to know if you are implying that there is a God? or implying that there isn't a God? or if you are just questioning people's generalized beliefs

Dude.... there is no supreme being up there watching all of us. When we die, we are dead.

that being said, the bible states that the sins of the father pass on thorughout the generations. therefore we are held accountable for our actions regaurdless of how we were raised. I think the bible makes it clear that we are all judged equally. however, for those that are so messed up and can not distinguish the difference between wrong and right, they never meet the age of acountability and can not held liable for their actions. this might be a little too deep for this board...... |
trying to make sense of religon and the bible is a waste of time

Forget aboves example, and take this example. If tomorrow, somebody(A) comes across a person who has 1millon dollar in a suitcase. He decides to kill him and to take the money. Somebody else(B), never came into this situation in his entire life, and died without doing any criminal activity. But if he(B), had this opportunity of meeting a man with 1million dollar, he would kill him too. So B never killed anyone, and A killed someone. Should B go to paradise? He was LUCKY to never meet someone with that cash, and A was UNLUCKY to meet someone with 1 millon dollar. I mean, you said the Bible says we are responsible for our actions, but if our actions are based on LUCK or BADLUCK, or opportunities, I think its really UNFAIR. Dont you think? |
It is egotistical to say man has such a comprehension on such a paradox of life/death. All we can really have assumptions, ideas, guesses on such a infinite subject. Figure this how the hell are we suppose to grasp such a complex subject when we cannot even grasp the simplicities of realities/life.
As for someone being brought up in such a lifestyle that might condemn there eternal fate... is also more BS to add to the fire. We are not born neutral. I have seen cases where it seemed children to be natural evil, innocent, good. Also I have seen them learn about evils without even any prior knowledge of what evil is. So my whole point with this post don't think you even got a somewhat grasp on the subject because there is no way we can. If you do think you do you are just feeding the ego and creating delusions which will put yourself in stalemate why you are thinking you are taking great leaps and bounds. The best thing you can do is just LEARN that is really all you can really do. Learn and listen to other people's ideas in an accepting manner and grow and maybe, just maybe you might come .00000000000001% closer to learning what the true meaning of life is. |
well the shortest way i can explain it is we all have a sense of right and wrong and we know which is which and have the ablity to chose one or the other so raised anyway is what you make of it, its why wealthy kids dont make it and poor kids make it wealthy, life is what you make it
