SmokeyTheBear, is there a (friendly) reason you're linking my GFY ID to someone else's site or are you just trying to scoop traffic for my ID?

its a script that grabs the users id and posts it where he has the code placed (his sig), no harm, no foul

I disagree.

While it may be unintentional, the end result is my GFY ID being used to spam someone else's site.

when I look at Smokeys sig, i see my name.

when juicy looks at Smokeys sig, hes sees his name

when Lensman looks at Smokeys sig, he sees his name.

so on and so on.

That might explain why the 'hello' in front, but making 'my' (when I view it) ID a link to someone else's site doesn't make sense.

If it's just a 'hello x' script - fine. (as you say, no harm no foul).

But my ip and the ip shown to the world are different my ISP have a firewall between me and the outside world.
Or atleast thats how I understand it :)

ok well, posting them ( ip 2 name ) and recording them are 2 different steps..

First they are recorded , then they are correlated , so check back and it should show your name when the database is re-correlated

My id with a link to another site was more a spamdexing clue that 'hello x gadget. Making assumptions about what something is by how it looks is how spammers get you to open their email too.

In any case, now that I understand what this is, my original question has been answered, and you guys can carry on with whose a 'dude' and whose 'not' :)
