At least amex has a good travel rewards, I'm stuck with my Visa points which don't really get all that much.

what kind of visa? i have a bank1 visa that i use for backup when places dont take amex and i can order gift certs or just get a check for however much $.

Amex points are great for travel. I don't think anyone in our company has had to buy a plane ticket since 1999.

A crappy one (Royal Bank USD Visa). 1 point per 1 dollar spent but there isn't that much in terms of useful stuff you can cash out. Travel rewards are there but take way too long to redeem. Amex really is 2-3X better in terms of points.

CapitalOne has a decent reward program. Tons of merchandise/certificates. Buy airline tickets online, and they'll redeem you or just do cash back. Next month they are increasing from $1 = 1 pt to 1.5pts. I'm about to cash 65,000 pts for a Bowflex home gym...

Do like me... order $10,000 in Home Depot gift cards :) Or, if you have as many babies as I do perhaps $10,000 at Babys R Us would buy a few diapers. The other option now is Dell... $10,000 at Dell isn't bad either!
