is a 10k bookmarked niche blog more profitable than a 10k bookmarked niche TGP?

assume both are the same exact niche, all US traffic, updated daily.

i understand blogs are awesome for PR but do they truly bring in the $$$.

I think an interesting, well thought out, well written, sex oriented blog is more prone to return visitors...but then that's just my thinking :)

Of course the blog will bring you more money, if you manage it good!

i havent done any blogs yet, so i am researching today. i have one pr3 TGP that has a nice amount of bookmarked traffic and i am thinking about turning it into a blog. but i do not want to bother if its not going to be more profitable

I would say a 10k blog would be more profitable because it would have more SE traffic flowing into it. Whats the skim on the tgp is this scenario?

im not a blogger either..but i think most use it to increase SE rankings...although im sure if done right..the blog itself would bring sales

I would still have to say blogs, because it has way more sales text to tempt the surfer and can get more search engine terms.

Blog would result in significant better results, provided its a "good" one and those bookmarkers don't get "tired" fast :)

Yes, still working on it. I'm still figuring out the concept and ways to make money on it. :)

a more accurate analysis would be what is the best ROI.

a constantly updated niche blog will generate high quality targeted traffic.

and this blog will require daily maintenance, by real human(s) to be effective.

TGPs can mostly be run on autopilot, and you can run 20 of then with about the same effort of one highly maintained blog.

you can make a hybrid tgp/blog. Tgp on right side with the blog on left.

write a good deal of your posts in advance, get a program like rocketpinger, and your daily work load will be alot less. Tgps have to worry about finding solid traffic trades just like blogs do. Also if your tgps are taking submissions that adds a deal of work to do for some setups. I think it could be a drawn out debate which one requires more work to make a quality site with all the generic tgps and (s)blogs that exist now. :upsidedow

I have to wonder about this concept. I am sure it works, but if your blogging wouldnt you rather take that tgp space and have a great post not giving away content and giving the surfer a sales pitch with seo friendly keywords?

We're still gettin' our feet wet with our first fetish blog/forum (www.fetishopolis.com), so its still a little too soon to determine how well it competes with our other adult sites.

So far we have a little over 400 registered members since Oct. 1st, respectable hits and returns - although not as much actual member participation as we'd like. But hopefully that'll increase as the site catches on.

We're stocking the blog with original content and a bit of affiliate stuff, with daily additions.

Although it may sound basic - undoubtedly the key to making a blog successful is attracting a good core of regular users ('sparkplugs') who post on a daily basis with both informative and controversial content (i.e. GFY, heh).

Hey men :) Me myself are getting confused. I'm quite struggling how am i going to fuse blog and tgp, make it mainstream for the bloggin community and most importantly make some cash on the side :) I hope i could find some solution.

What does PR have to do with earnings?

Just starting to get into a little blog project myself.

Blog should bring you more money cauz :
1 : Less free content
2 : More search engine traffic
3 : The possibility to target your hits well because of the text

Its not the code....not in the sites anyway.....firefox itself is fucked up....just because its new and has tabs....dosnt mean it can blaze its own trail....it has to follow a guidline thats already set...if the code is fucked up...its only through the eye of the beholder.....now.....old school is still always better.....

on a second note...anyone wanna let me know how to make firefox hapopy and what is needed to be done to fix this dilema....some blogs also do this kinda with the newer version of IE ... (6.0) ... been battling this problem

Synthesize! Make it a TGP that lists only blogs. Require reciprocals. You'll be PR10 in no time. :winkwink:
