"We expected to see a long movie," said Univeral chair Stacey Snider, "and we loved it. It's a brilliant movie, an epic feast."


"This is a three-hour feast of an event," said Marc Shmuger, vice chairman of Universal Pictures, who described the film as a tragic love story between the ape and Naomi Watts, who plays Ann Darrow, an actress. "I've never come close to seeing an artist working at this level."


"I anticipated it would be long, but not this long," the Universal chairwoman, Stacey Snider, said. As recently as late September, she expected about two hours and 40 minutes, she said. But on Wednesday she expressed delight with the picture she's got: "This is a masterpiece. I can't wait to unveil it."

I'm really looking forward to this one

Most will not admit it, but King Kong is a racist subliminal movie about blacks taking over the city and getting white girls.

I'd pre-order the extended DVD collectors edition right now if I could.

Nah actually I can't wait to see it!

Does look good to be fair.

One thing I heard that disappointed me is Jackson fired Howard Shore who was doing the music for Kong. Shore also did the ground-breaking and incredible music for the LOTR trilogy so I was looking forward to seeing what Shore could do with King Kong. Most of the music was already done and in the can when Jackson just couldn't abide the creative differences anymore between himself and Shore for what the Kong music should sound like. Just recently, he hired James Newton Howard to do the music, even though the movie is scheduled for release in Mid-December of this year. We'll see how the music goes.

Peter Jackon is the greatest director of all time.

I can't wait till 2007 for Halo, the movie.. he's also directing it.

It's amazing that top Universal executives would come forth with such praise..

This movie just looks stupid to me, i have really low expectations of it. There is a slim chance though that i might be pleasantly surprised by it.

I heard that he's only producing it and giving it creative input, not directing.
