Geezer Rock - Whacha Think?
Stones, McCartney, Who, Aerosmith, Clapton etc etc - you think old rockers should retire gracefully or do you like them still out there even as they age - sometimes badly?
|
I don't think age could tell whether these oldies should retire or not. As long as they can still play their songs, create good music for their fans, then there's no point of retiring.
By the way, I am a loyal beatles fan. :winkwink: :thumbsup |
I dunno...but after seeing a rather sad vid clip of David Lee Roth doing "Jump" with the Boston Pops Symphony the other night on his website - I'd cast a vote of retirement for some.
(and this comin' from a big DLR fan) :( SilentKnight |
They may not be getting new fans, but as long as they can still entertain their old fans then why retire?
|
You have obviously not seen the Cream reunion DVD from Royal Albert Hall... and the Stone's have produced more albums than any other band, and they just keep kickin ass. To be honest with you, they just don't make music like they used to. Silvertide and Jet are doing a pretty good job of breaking through the record industry's wall on real music but still. I thank my dad's generation for giving us the godfathers of rock!

Classic Rock never dies as well as the artist. :thumbsup
