Any Idea How A Site goes From a pr2 to a pr 0 on Google? This just happened to one of my sites and I can't figure out why :mad:

Losing backlinks.

getting owned

penalized?

many possibilities

got caught as a spammer...

I agree either you lost backlinks, or google penalized your sites. Make sure your link partners still have your links up and also make sure that you don't have any spammy stuff on your site

i'd say you lost some backlinks as well. A bunch of mine went like that too.

make sure you aren't linking to sites that are banned by google.

Very easy... you linked to a sandboxed site plus you triggered some of their 'ancillary' criteria for detecting SE spam (IPs, timing, cross indexed with crap sites, etc etc)

My first guess is: penalized. :2 cents:

a massive drop in backlinks is unlikely, so its probably been penalized. for what, who knwos.

Depends. There are some 3 possibilities 1. your site has been penalised by google for using illegalmethods. 2. your link partners don't link to you anymore
3. one or more of the websites you are linking to have been penalised and so did you for linking ot them. So I suggest you check your linking partners pretty often and keep an exact database with all the links/sites etc. If you don't have enough time I can do it for you on a monthly basis. Just let me know.

Could be many things even just a mistake on googles part it does happen
