** Players Ball ** Last question regarding main artist - input needed
 

Seriously though, this years Players Ball has more ups and down then American Idol and Rockstar INXS. Who will be the final main act at this 2006 Players Ball in Vegas?

We went through all of the big name current rappers and rock bands, all of them are high on drugs and want way more then we can possibly raise in sponsorships.

Ludacris is close, but he's still high.

So after a ton of research and much thought on who would be the best show for our Players Ball audience, I'd like to run this option past you all.

George Clinton and P-Funk. George and P-Funk and the originators of Funk and they perform a 3 to 4 hour non stop live funk show. They have a huge band with a horn section, back up singers, tons of instruments and of course, George Clinton. They are my favorite band of all time and they've also inspired hip hop and rap more then any other musical influence.

Personally, I think George would please most of the webmasters because it's just great music to dance to and everyone will dig their stage show. They're a lot of money too, but way less then Ludacris.

The situation with P-Funk is, they require a huge stage since they fly in 44 people, most of them are on stage performing. So if they can fit on the stage we have, they will be the best option at this point.

Thoughts? I know you all know from George Clinton and P-Funk.

We're so close to locking in talent, just wanting some feedback. Luda might still happen, but we'd need a bunch more people to step up for sponsorships, especially the larger size ones.

Here's some of artists we've already tried for and couldn't get due to schedules or pricing:

LL Cool J, Snoop Dogg, Mike Jones, Kid Rock, Nine Inch Nails, Korn and many others.

Also, we're about to announce the full sponsor line up once we lock in the artist. For now I can tell you we only have 1 main sponsor, ANYwebcam.

Will the mothership land in Vegas? Do you want the funk? The whole funk, nuthing but the funk? Is there nuthin' but the dog in you? Shit, g_d damn, get off your ass and jam!

From what I heard from the local promoter who booked them a few months ago, they're pretty cracked up these days, and when playing here didn't perform all that well. He was pretty depressed, being that P-Funk is one of his all-time favorites, too.

P Funk and George rock, i helped coordinate a 3 day show with them once.

Where is the players ball going to be at? 44 man stage is probably not that easy to get setup at the Rio if it is still there. I have not partied there in years but I don't remeber a large stage.

The issue is, if George performs, he does a 3 hour set. Plus we have a world reknown DJ, DJ Clinton Sparks (#1 Mixtape DJ in the world) and we have the Big Woodies and DJ Evan.

So we might not have the time for another act if we do George.

But I'm still keeping Quik in the running cause he's a great show.

44 people fly in with George. Not all of them are on stage, maybe half of them. But still, it's a big stage. I've seen George play at the Belly Up in SD, I'd imagine that's the same size stage as Rio's.

Not sure though.

I honestly think Club Rio is wayyyyyyyyy too small for PFunk. It would be the ultimate show, but I can't see it happening. :(

Okay, I will be honest here. I have only been to one Players Ball, and while I had a great time, the artists are not exactly people I would recognize on the street or on the radio (except maybe Snoop, but I am hardly a "fan").

George Clinton, on the other hand, rocks. I am surprised there are people here that say they do not know who he is.
