That show "Airline" makes me never want to fly southwest

Unreal that Southwest even lets that show air. They treat their passengers with total disrespect. But maybe the passengers deserve it :disgust

Ramos 10-24-2005 07:29 PM

I flew southwest 3 times in 3 weeks and never got on the episode....I tried

escorpio 10-24-2005 07:30 PM

they truly suck

BRISK 10-24-2005 07:34 PM

I think the passengers deserve it. So many drunk and belligerent passengers they have to deal with.

Peaches 10-24-2005 07:36 PM

I never wanted to fly it BEFORE I started watching it but the show just makes it worse. Damn. Greyhound for the skies. It's always sad when you see a has been featured on there because you know they've hit the bottom when they are flying SW ;)

Though I do know some folks with big $$$ who fly them so if they read this, don't be bitchy :)

northboy 10-24-2005 07:36 PM

that show is amazing, I love all the drunks who try to fly and claim they are sober

boneprone 10-24-2005 07:37 PM

I think Yolanda and Mike are pretty damn good customer service people. Did you see the episode where some old man shit his pants and Mike took him to some private room to clean him up?

That one broke my heart. The wife was so embarassed. I don't think they should have showed that one to be honest. It was just sad :(

SmokeyTheBear 10-24-2005 07:44 PM

Actually i think they do a pretty good job for the most part.. The gay guy pisses me off , i liked when buddy told him he was gonna kick his ass lol..

It takes alot of guts to put that on by southwest , sometimes i think " holy crap is this terrible pr for them ", but in reality it wouldn't disuade me from flying with them..

detoxed 10-24-2005 07:47 PM

Yeah, that one too :( And the dude who met his fiance on line and hadn't ever met her and she totally brushed him off when she got off the plane!

The biggest turnoff of SW to me is the no code sharing. If Delta or the other code share airlines cancel a flight they can usually put you on another airline. SW can't. They can refund you the ticket price but that won't buy the same ticket elsewhere. I'd rather pay a little more to know I can get from point A to point B. Plus I like 1st class :thumbsup

Matt 26z 10-24-2005 07:49 PM

They are the ones who chose to be featured. I wonder why AA and United are not on? What do they have to hide? Hmm...

BJ 10-24-2005 07:49 PM

If you are beligerant then yes you shouldn't fly but ive seen ones where they don't let people board for just smelling like alcohol, and who have not bothered a sole. I mean come on.

Peaches 10-24-2005 07:50 PM

There's a UK Airline show too - I think it started before the SW one. It's pretty good but the passengers are usually better behaved ;)

Ramos 10-24-2005 07:51 PM

oh I met that twink customer service agent in baltimore

boneprone 10-24-2005 07:57 PM

Ahhh. I just missed it.

It appears its on again in for another 3 hours here. at 11:00 PM PST

Direct TV

They're far superior to SWA for pretty much the same price and it's hard to justify paying business or first for a one hour flight to socal on AA or UAL.

SWA should stick to short-haul ... their product absolutely sucks for flights longer than an hour or two :2 cents:

I would LOVE Jet Blue to come in here and wipe Delta off the map. They aren't even in ATL at all (neither is SW though). Delta has managed to keep everyone out and now they're in bankruptcy. Brilliant!

adultchica 10-24-2005 08:06 PM

I would never fly Southwest. Never have, never will. This show is just a testimonial to their crap.

Doubt Southwest are alone PM.

I never ever flown worse flights than the internal US flights. Oddly US airlines are OK on international flights (least most that I've been on).

Some of it is just unbelievable shit. I ended up in American Airlines part of Forth Worth once - there was a storm at the time. Anyways, in the whole of this area.. it's big!... there was not one employee of AA. On the gates, there were .. dunno, but probably around 100 aircraft and nada security. One old guy was sweeping the floor, another "supposed" to be a guard.

I found a phone behind and AA desk and eventually got connected to an AA office "somewhere" and told em to get me the hell outta the world-just-died-movie and a hotel please. About 90 mins later someone turned up.

The numbers of complaints re airlines is crazy and increasing annually. Every time anyone arrives here via Miami or Fort Worth, the first thing that comes outta their mouths is about the stupid staff with a PR sense of zero and the normally late, flight. ("You want a MEAL??? They don't even feed us! We have to bring our own sandwiches!" :1orglaugh )

It's a last resort if I end up flying in transit to the US anymore. AeroFlot is preferable! :1orglaugh

They weren't afraid to go after the big boys at JFK, so I hope they hit ATL soon...or RDU at worst.

Doctor Dre 10-24-2005 09:13 PM

They got a good client base ... **sarcasm** . They probably make as much $ from the show then the airline... cauz that's certainly not good publicity.

Southwest has the fewest customer complaints, imagine a show for Delta, AA, or others.

I try to fly SWA personally, the way their rewards program works and their price is unbeatable. I do admit for longer flights it's better to fly Continental.

I will NEVER fly Delta again.

I Fucked Her 10-24-2005 10:51 PM

yeah interesting customer service :)

LiveDose 10-24-2005 10:57 PM

I've flown SW before and never had a problem... I wonder if some routes have more problematic customers.

is this a fact? i highly doubt it! southwest has a show for a reason, cuz they ALWAYS have bullshit going on. problems with their planes, customers etc, they got picked for the show because they would make great drama....... :2 cents:

slavdogg 10-24-2005 11:07 PM

nothing wrong with SW
i fly it all the time for short flights on the west coast
they're always on time, and if u miss the flight.. next one is just an hour away.

The Ghost 10-24-2005 11:28 PM

Flying in the states is a nightmare on most airlines now, but SW is especially bad. With 9/11 it seems like Flight attendants have more authority than actual police, and are not afraid to use it. I had a friend removed from a flight for asking the stewardess to be careful with a bag in the overhead container.

It is amusing how after being total c*nts the entire flight you get that forced smile and 'thank you' when you deplane. But dealing with some of the assholes that fly must be a bitch too. Southwest seems to love having bitter, over-the-hill stewardesses begrudgingly delivering peanuts and soda to you. In any other country, those workers would have been put out to pasture long ago.

The days of airline customer service are long gone. But they are fairly cheap, so you do get what you pay for. Sheep. We're all sheep.

spunkmaster 10-25-2005 12:35 AM

Southwest has never had a crash where someone died !

erehwon 10-25-2005 01:23 AM

I hate flying SWA, I was working for one firm that used flying on Southwest as a form of hazing new employees.

Aeroflot rulez!!

What other airline would serve you Cuban mango juice at 3AM in Uzbekistan while you wait on the tarmac in -30 degrees for a couple of hours for a military coupe to finish so the plane can get permission to leave :1orglaugh

JFK 10-25-2005 02:50 AM

so is this show for real? a reality series or what? I have heard about it but never watched it.
