Has verio gone to shit?

I'm seeing alot of messages like these ones lately...

"gallery rejected
unable to access page."
or
"DNS Error"

etc... on and off, sometimes it works fine, other times doesnt work at all.

On two different servers, with different companies, both using verio bandwidth.

Is there anything else you guys can think of that might be causing these errors?

stev0 10-24-2005 09:05 PM

no one else eh?

kaori 10-24-2005 09:16 PM

what hosts are you seeing it with?

stev0 10-24-2005 09:26 PM

I have servers with serverprovider and rocketflow (both use verio bandwidth)

and both are great hosting companies btw, this is just a recent issue that has been driving me nuts. Alot of listings on places like worldsex work when I submit them, but then the script drops them later on when it re-checks the gallery after it's already been approved.

I Fucked Her 10-24-2005 10:23 PM

Did you ask the companies about a possible reason ?

Yup, they had no idea what the problem could be... I think one of the guys from RocketFlow is going to check with verio though, hopefully they can figure out what the problem is.

stev0 10-25-2005 09:04 AM

grr, now it's happening on richardsrealm too

"Many thanks for submitting your page, but we've decided not to list it.

Reason:
"Unable to connect to your server/site."
"

DateDoc 10-26-2005 10:10 AM

Didn't Verio have issues because of Wilma?

pawsregd 10-26-2005 10:16 AM

Same problem here with a server in AlphaRed DC using Verio. A lot of people say that they cannot access my sites.

Are the connectivity issues on and off? or the same people always have problems connecting?

pawsregd 10-26-2005 05:21 PM

Same peeps. I don't understand it.

stev0 10-28-2005 02:35 AM

i'm trying to figure it out... been sending feedback to my hosting providers so that they can forward it on to verio engineers and get the problem fixed.

NoHassleSteve 11-30-2005 11:27 PM

I was considering Rocketflow...

Was there ever any resolution to this possible Verio problem?

:helpme

GoodGuy 11-30-2005 11:40 PM

yeah verio is sucking lately...

The download speed form Verio to my Cogent server is about 20kb per sec lately.

chaze 11-30-2005 11:41 PM

Verio has always been garbage, we dumped them years ago for that exact reason.

Thought it was common knowledge for webmasters by now.

Exactly, besides the verio issue, I also noticed slow speeds from Europe to my alphared server, I already reported this two weeks ago, still waiting for a solution. There must be some serious connectivity problems somewhere and I think it's out of their hands. They used to fix my speed issues very fast, every time I reported it, for the last year.

But for some reason it's taking too long now :( They also switched to abovenet, but that did not fix the problem.

SplitInfinity 11-30-2005 11:54 PM

We have a verio pipe and had noticed some oddities in the routing earlier today.
I called up verio premier support, spoke to a task engineer and he is aware of
a problem that is being worked at this time to remedy it. We have been using
verio for many years and rarely have issues with them. Stable, solid and etc....
AND, its about to get better as NTT is taking them over completly. Now thats a good thing.

Anyways, those who are seeing issues, its not your provider, and you are not going crazy, verio is working on it and the ETA is 3am PST.

:-)

Cheers..
Hope the info helps.
