Wireless options for tv/media area

I am trying to setup the stereo, dvd, tuner, cable box etc. in a different part of our living room from the tv. Trying to avoid running cables all over the place. Has anyone had experience with some of the wireless media units. I've seen one at Best Buy from Linksys but I don't know squat about wireless in relation to tv, video etc.

Any advice would be great...

None of them are nearly as good as standard wire.

Yeah, you're far better off running the wire. If you're not affraid of a little drywall dust, get in there yourself. If you are, then hire an installer. Really, I don't understand why people pay 5k on a t.v. only to have a crap wiring job done. Make it look clean and use quality cable - then you'll have a nice setup that will live past the occasional new tv or audio component.
