We Got the Money From the Sale of Our House!!

It was our first house bought and sold ... we had bad luck through both the buy and sell, we jumped through many hoops just because of stupid stuff.

Anywhoo ... all is said and done and today we are $92k richer!!

Nothing at this time ... we didn't go and purchase a new home. We moved to Colorado to test it up here and want to build a house.

I paid off all my debt which makes me feel way better than a swimming pool. ; )

WebairGerard 10-24-2005 11:51 AM

Old rules. You don't pay capital gains taxes on the first $250K ($500K if married filing jointly) of profits from primary residences any more. Even if you decide to do nothing but party hard with the $$$ :)

That is exactly what we are doing, we would like to build and have never lived in CO before. So we didn't want to jump into another mortgage. So gonna rent for a year to see how we like it here and then build.
