Timeless Movies- A Clockwork Orange

This movie is still amazing nearly 35 years after it was released this movie still hits hard everytime I see it.

Kubrick was a genius.

From what perspective would you say it's the worst movie you've ever seen?

The acting is superb, without the use of Hollywood sell outs.

The direction is impeccable, I don't think Kubrick has made a bad movie but given the time in which this movie was written and filmed, Kubrick turned this story into a cinematic masterpiece.

The story is completely unique and it touches on social and societal issues at all levels. This movie is set in the future and it explored the criminal mind from the perspective of the criminal as well as the witness and society.

This movie does what most movies out of Hollywood can't do, which is push boundaries and make a statement.

One of the most brilliant movies of all time.

I can hardly wait till Hollywood remakes it with MTV-style editing, CGI and a rap soundtrack. :disgust

Malcolm McDowell was tremendous in that film... I've met him and he is one of the kindest people - shows how great an actor he is.

My absolute all time favorite movie. Kubrick did a great job with an equally great book.

gornyhuy 10-24-2005 01:34 PM

I've heard the book is good... might go pick that up.

Easily in my top 5 films of all time!

It's so surreal yet so truthful that it's a difficult movie to watch the first time you see it. The thing is the more that you watch that movie, it doesn't get easier to watch.

Eyes Wide Shut was a great way for Kubrick to go out. One of the only movies that I liked Tom Cruise in, Top Gun too, but this is a Kubrick thread.
