Ebay scam - what can I do?

I ordered an item from ebay, waited for almost three weeks for the item to be delivered, nothing came. Now, after my numerous emails to the seller, he replies and says that the bag came back to him eventhough the address that he claimed he sent the item is correct. Now, he wants more money to send it again, but I think it is a scam. I asked for my money to be refunded and no answer from him.

What can I do in this situation, can I get his ebay account shut down?

Ebay has a very good rep. You should try them, first. I think they have a rating system for idiots like that.

That sucks ... Tell him u'll pay the extra when u get the package :)

If the bag came back to then ask him to scan the bag send it to you in email showing the canceled postmark with your address.

Then I would pay him to send it again and then take it up with the post office for a refund.

Or I have had it happen to me where a buyer bough some DVDS and the post office returned it 10 days after it was sent saying the address was bad.

I contacted the buyer and he verified the addy and it was correct where I had sent it. Then I took the package to the post office and explained it to them that this was a good verified address and yet it had come back.

The clerk took the package and resent it free for me but this time they sent it direct to the post master of the buyers post office. Within a couple days the buyer had his dvds.

But if the guy from is telling the truth he should have no problem scanning it etc,..

Just a thought.

Lev that really sucks man. Contact bidpay and ebay about this scammer. He is asking for more money is bad news. Hope you get this solved bro. :( Makes you have less faith in people.

That is so bad Lev, I guess you must talk to a lawyer and file a lawsuit against them.

eBay sucks when you actually have a problem.

I just dealt with two deadbeat bidders. eBay was worthless in resolving the matter.

Screaming 10-24-2005 08:15 AM

Sounds like a scam, refund if you used paypal.

I ordered a Laptop from ebay a couple years back and got a box full of phone books. I called ebay to complain and disputed the charge on my credit card. The guy was adamant that he sent the actual laptop and even provided photos of the box with the laptop inside of it.

It became a "he said, she said" situation and he spun it so that I was the bad guy and replaced the laptop with the phone books myself in order to get a laptop for free. I lost the charge back and ebay didn't do anything to alleviate my problem other than telling me that I should have used their escrow service.

Long story short; I was ripped off for $2400 and ebay or my bank didn't do shit to rectify the issue.
