Brazil says yes to guns

and rightfully so

It is stupid to start selling guns in a gun free country, but in countries like the US, Brazil, or South Africa you should have the option to buy gun for your own protection !

u-Bob 10-23-2005 05:25 PM

this thread needs some nice gun pics :)

Jer 10-23-2005 05:29 PM

I didn't say yes. I didn't say no.
I haven't transfered my ID from São Paulo to Fortaleza yet so I "justified" my vote.

Jer 10-23-2005 05:30 PM

Voting isn't optional in Brazil so if you're out of your city you have to "justify" it filling a small form.

Jer 10-23-2005 05:32 PM

Isn't it beautiful? Voting stopped only 4 hours and 30 minutes ago and we already know the result.

I think every person on this planet should be given three nuclear warheads and the missles to deliver them to their target.

We could get everything straightened out in a few days.

smack 10-23-2005 05:34 PM

private citizens should have the right to own firearms period.

here is my favorite excerpt from my state's constitution.

Quote:

Pennsylvania Constitution
Article I, Section 21

The right of the citizens to bear arms in defence of
themselves and the State shall not be questioned.

Stomped 10-23-2005 05:35 PM

That sucks...
Now there is going to be much more violence in the favelas

I don't think it'd take that long. Couple of pissing threads on GFY and we're all history.

Jer 10-23-2005 05:39 PM

Brazilian government should be taking care of important stuff instead of trying to make people forget about what is going on.

Selling guns was legal before this voting. The real problem is with the illegal guns, not the legal ones.

tranza 10-23-2005 05:44 PM

I didn't vote either.

But I agree with the decision.

:)

You don't know what you're talking about. We always had the right to buy guns. We decided to keep it today.

Go focus about your ruined economy.

LazyBastard 10-23-2005 05:51 PM

Guns are stupid.

That is too bad. Would have been a nice move. Brazil is on fire and it would have just added another reason to invest there.

There is nothing wrong in owning a gun, (for protection sake) one must be really responsible enough not to abuse it. :thumbsup

The government is a fucking joke.. they always figure a way to drive (stupid) peoples minds away from big messy scandals... sweet.

I didn't vote, didn't justify and don't plan on doing it. The law is so stupid, voting is mandatory, but if you don't do it.. you can always pay (about U$1.5) and that's it, you're even with your civilian duties.

Only a total retard would think the government is really trying to ban fire weapons, they make big bucks with its taxes and big boys are behind the industry. And if you think that banning weapons will make Brazil a better and peaceful country, you're wrong again. Druglords have military grade weaponry and guess what? They come from international black-market...

xfalmp 10-24-2005 05:20 AM

I voted yes to guns, but not because I have guns and I really don`t pretend to... it`s just a matter of believing things will not change if we said no, it could actually get worse.

To the guy who made the comment about favelas, dude, you`re way off. :)
