Nine Inch Nails Concert Review
 

Well I actually went and saw them last Monday the 17th, I just haven't gotten around to posting about it. Anywho, here goes:

The concert took place at the American Airlines Arena in Dallas, TX. The opening acts were Death From Above 1979 and Queens of the Stone Age.

Death From Above were pretty good, especially for being only a 2 man band. The drummer was skilled, very precise. Good way to get the concert kicked off.

Next out was Queens of the Stone Age. They played mostly newer songs but a couple older ones were thrown in for good measure before they ended it with "No One Knows". At one point during the performance a guitar was broken and thrown into the audience. I'm pretty sure someone was killed. It looked pretty sharp (the guitar neck) and he chunked it like a javelin.
They played well, but the audience still wasn't that excited.

To be honest, the audience was a little lame.

Anyway, once they finished playing they exited the stage, but not before the drummer grabbed his crotch and told a fan to suck it. That was funny. I think their drummer was pretty wasted.

After what seemed like forever (it was actually like 45 min) of waiting for Nine Inch Nails...they finally came out. That's when the crowd started getting a little bit rowdy. A giant projector screen was brought down in front of the band as they started playing. You could still see them through the screen, though.

I don't remember the exact order of the songs but I do know that they played Piggy, Only, Hurt, The Hand That Feeds, Head Like a Hole, The Wretched, March of the Pigs, and Terrible Lie.

I do not remember the name of the last song on their latest CD but as they played it they showed images on the giant projector screen. Most of it was animals fighting in slow motion. Once the song started picking up it changed to images of warfare and such. Then everything stopped and an image appeared......and it was George Bush.

Most of the place started cheering when they saw it. A few people booed him. I flipped him a big fuck you as hard as I could (as if he was really there).

On a sidenote, what kind of fascist, Republican, Bush-loving, cocksmoker goes to a NIN show? That's kind of like a racist going to a Snoop Dogg concert.

Anyway, all in all it was an awesome show. Reznor threw his mic into the audience and some guy started yelling into it. That was humorous.

Very entertaining, especially since it was my first "real" concert, and what with me and my girl being but a few yards from Nine Inch Nails.

I highly recommend seeing them if at all possible. :thumbsup

I love NIN ... i saw them years ago at the Garden .. it was when he found Marilyn Manson and MM was opening for them ... he did a few songs with a big Black strap-on that pissed on the crowd ... :1orglaugh

NIN came out and did a kick ass show and the had the screen down for Hurt ..with time lapped images of animals rotting ... it was a very cool show .. :thumbsup

why do you think a pic of Bush was thrown up? as a "hail to the chief"? or a "fuckin die!" statement? seems odd that ANYONE would like him now a days. oh well.

Wow, that sounds pretty cool.

I'd prefer Manson over Queens of the Stone Age any day.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the entire arena reeked of pot. The vocalist for QotSA said something to the effect of "I smell weed" and then he started telling security to back off.

Anyway, Manson's next on my list of 'bands to see.'

I saw NIN at the first Lollapalooza tour in Orlando way back in 91 or so..they kicked ass then too.. :pimp

Babagirls: Thanks for the compliment. Glad you enjoyed the review. Well the Bush thing was actually video, not a picture. It was him dancing with his wife. It was fucking stupid. I'm pretty sure it was more of a "look at this assclown" statement, moreso than anything. lol

Stomped: I hope you have a good time! I don't think NIN will ever disappoint.

crockett: True, it was Texas. It's kind of like that here in OK, too. It's sad. But yeah I wish I could have seen them back in the day...although, as many bands get older and sometimes shittier, I don't believe NIN has lost anything. I think they rock just as hard now as they did when they recorded Pretty Hate Machine.
