Your oppinion about ev1 servers
 

Hi All,
I plan to order dedicated server, I heard that ev1 servers(ev1servers.net) are one of the best, they have the biggest bandwidth, but I do not see anybody mentioned them here. Dedicated srevers are not limeted to non-adult content(their virual host are).
I check their prices, and they are one of the chepest.
So I want to know reason why everybody avoid them?

They are an unmanaged host.

I had them for about 2 years. They never were down, the support was good and the server was fast. The only problem I would say that I had with them is that some of the bigger tgp's that I would submit to would return an error saying that they "have banned the whole of the net where your server is hosted" and things like that. I'm not sure why, maybe they had a big problem with cheaters or spammers or something that were hosted there, but other than that they were a good host.

^-check them out, I like them a lot better than ev1.

have used ev1 for some of our smaller stuff. never had a problem, but if you can't administer the platform, it'll be bad for you when something goes wrong. About the only thing they'll do for you is a reboot. Anything else and you are on your own.

They are cheap?

They are charging like $1,200 for a 10mb cogent line. :1orglaugh

Theplanet charges like $250 for a 20mb cogent.

I've used them in the past. AdultEUHost is way better!

I used them in 2001 & 2002. Nice but Webair has me spoiled. I can never go back to an unmanaged host.

EV1 aka Rackshack has retards for tech support, there solution to any minor problem is to reformat hd and reinstall the os. I think they hire people off the street, lol.
