With enough traffic I've learned how every sponsor out there operates. Do you sheep (webmasters) think it's a coincidence to get 1:3000 3 weeks in a row and then 1:120 couple of days? Nope. You're all widely considered as sheep. Remember that, that's why everyone and his mother wants to have a paysite.

TRAFFIC, it's all about that, who controls it. Sponsors are a dime a dozen. Scamming short-sighted fucks 90% of them.

Don't be loyal to a sponsor. It's pathetic to see how weeks in a row when u send good traffic u get shit conversions, but when u stop the traffic u get miracle sales and conversions. Again :321GFY all of you scamming bastards. Even most of the big ones.

if you got a lot of bookmark traffic, old sites are just not going to do as well as new ones. Also bad conversion can be due to tours, if the sponsors updates tours with new updates, different girls on a tour will affect conversions

excuse me but ALL ccbill sponsors have totally shitty stats right now ... summer used to have big time slowdowns ...

a lot factors comes into play when it comes to sales...

Also... a design / add / site can get overexposed with your traffic...

I totally agree don't be loyal to any sponsor. I even switch them out on my exits daily.

saturdays are 75% day and new affiliates get 75% for the first 30 days.
I dont ever shave because I dont offer more then am willing to pay.

We use Executive stats so we can't shave at all even if we wanted to.

But I agree with send who makes you the most and to those who don't skew there numbers show fist page hits and second. many just show hits from the join page etc.

It happens. I had a couple dozen active paying members in a cam site program. Conversions we're like clock work and was making revshare off these members every day. Then for a 2 week period nothing- nada. Then magically everything started back up again and of course those previous members we're back and still paying daily. :disgust

Sure there are good sponsors out there, but it's clear there are a load of theives as well. Any stats have a pattern over a period and stats that defy gravity just don't wash.

Clue.. run your own paysites and any traffic ya do throw out to a sponsor is a bonus.

I had some extremely targeted traffic that use to convert 1:50 with when I FIRST started promoting this one program. Few weeks later, I'm now @ 1:1000 with the same exact traffic source. Not sure what the cause is, but I'm slowly changing out links.

My rant here is, to look deeper than what GFY has to offer.. sponsors in sig, advertisers, so called "big names" etc.

There are sponsors with 1000's of sites, shitload of reps that will convince you nothing is wrong on a "grand scale" and conversions they have are only improving.

Have you met a sponsor that will admit of having bad times? Heh :D

Can't say for recently emthree, - we don't use sponsors we don't know - but that was a very familiar pattern with a few "big" sponsors years back. The tendency was.. great conversions on month one with them, then a decline to nada on month three.

Were they scamming? Of course - they even had a script to manage it! :winkwink:

:winkwink: OK.. I ain't into asslicking, and will only mention two that I think are OK with any confidence. One is Andrew Conru/Sagi/Lars from AdultFriendFinder, the other is Lar's operation on cams.

That's called overexposure. Sometimes all it takes is a few weeks.

i see "fishy" things from time to time, one sponsor in particular turns the shave off when i drop my traffic down low, every single time.

Why don't you guys signup yourself once in a while to see who's shaving and who's not?

Most programs would term you if you did that :)

Sponsors have no way to know if you ask your friends to signup once in a while. Don't rip them of, keep the membership active long enough to pay for the signup payout and give your friend the money back.

I won't claim we're not shaving here because this is not about what you say, this is about what you do. And each of our affiliates is free to signup himself to any of our sites to test us out and we don't term anyone for that.

Actually Ive only run into one program that ever had a problem with it and Ive done it to dozens of sponsors - I also keep a running list of who not to ever send traffic to as they didnt report the sales - and I even tell everyone after I do it as most of them have in their T&C that you can do it - the ones I like are the ones that say - let us know ahead of time :)

And before anyone asks - no I will not say anything publicly about which programs didnt report the sales as the reps usually come on here every time someone says anything and piss and moan saying that they never would cheat a fly - so I just dont bother and keep it to myself - i figure if a person with so little biz sense as me can check it themselves - so can anyone else thats really interested in their own business

Odds are any sponsor shaving would have sophisticated shaving systems. If i were going to shave webmasters i wouldn't shave any signups coming from the same state as the webmaster

Don't go by daily results, but weekly, or even better, monthly results.

You might be 1:3000 one day with 3000 clicks then 1:200 another day with 1000 clicks. This would average out to be 1:666 with 4000 clicks. It takes volume to get real results. It might have just gotten lucky to get those 5 sales from 1000 clicks, and unlucky to only get one sale from 3000 clicks.

Of course this does not apply if you are sending 50k's of clicks per day. Then you can get an accurate impression sooner.
