Question about sharing files on network
So, I networked my laptop and desktop together, and I have figured out how to pull up files from my desktop (98SE) to my laptop (XP), but I have not figured out how to pull files from my laptop onto my desktop.
Any hints? |
Oh man, there's a trick to it, Win2000 and WinXP have encrypted passwords from what I remember so they can't interface with Win98/Win95 machines directly. There is a one line patch I recall seeing, I just can't remember it. Try searching Microsoft sites for file sharing and put XP/98 as the environments. I think Win95/98 uses plain text and the later generations use encrypted, you just have to set the flag to one of the other on all machines and it will work.

ummm .. this shouldn't really be a problem, just install a FTPD on one box and just ftp them across :) There are other ways, but I think this is the fasted. G6 FTPD or something.
