Seems a bit silly to move to it though, no? Big-Boys has alot of brand power now. I guess they'll build break up with time, but it kind of seems like Google moving to Find.com or something similar (not that big-boys compares to google though). Guess it could be a good long term move, just makes for more work for them now.

ya, it does seem weird. if i had a big site under one name, i wouldnt change it thats for sure.

Best move would to do a spinoff site the incoporates Big-Boys.com. Set up some major cross promotions. Seems to work well for the guys that started up collegehumor.com

I wouldn't change domains after all that BB branding.

1.) Break.com isn't a six figure domain.
If it sold for that? Great, but market dictates low-five for that domain. Maybe mid.

2.) Wouldn't change due to all big-boys marketing/branding? Right.

It's not like google - simply because, they're a corporate brand, referenced offline. With, what I would say, is a great domain for what it is. It's not obstacle to type. Big-Boys.com is a hyphenated piece of shit, that displays videos. The re-branding process on BigBoys part will make it easier to retain visitors, as well as make the the site commercially viable. Hmm "big-boys" or "break". Although I disagree with most about break.com's value, it certaintly is more suitable/memorable name. Besides - anyone with "big-boys.com" still fresh in their mind, can type that in, and be redirected. Wow. No loss in visitors, nor any loss "branding".

Here's why It makes some sense...

Why Change? To help more people find the site.

We get hundreds of emails a week from people who can?t get to Big-Boys since any combination of ?big? and ?boys? is blocked by a lot of adult filter software packages. We don't want to deny these people our kick ass content, and they will no longer be denied.

We also think a lot of people can?t find the site because they don?t know it is ?Big-Boys? instead of ?BigBoys? (and yes, we tried to get that name, but can't. If you can let us know).

After months of dealing with this stuff, we were able to buy the name Break.com which we thought was pretty sweet; it?s easy to remember, and way easier to type.

What Does This Mean for You? Not much.

Starting sometime in November, Big-Boys will re-direct to Break.com where you will see the Break logo. Too lazy to change your bookmark? Doesn?t worry, Big-Boys will always re-direct.
