candyflip 10-20-2005 05:21 PM

I just finished up talking to Chio and am going to pick up a single domain license to see how it works.

Mr Pheer 10-20-2005 05:40 PM

I've got it, and it rocks

http://www.pheerhockey.com

YARGH! I use it. :1orglaugh If you have any questions about it ICQ me (it's in location)

Thanks to everyone that said good words about it. On a side note the pr jumped from 0 to four on the demo site, and traffic is continuing to go up too.

Glad to hear it's going well for you guys. The coder/support guy's in the process of moving so if you've submitted support tickets that haven't been answered yet let me know, I can prolly help out.

Makingcoin 10-20-2005 07:11 PM

I am going to purchase it. I will post my results. :)

kaori 10-20-2005 07:24 PM

I'm curious.. what does it do??
Pheerhockey looks like just a normal site? How does it utilize autoblogger?

It does quite a bit, and the whole point is to appear non-autmated :) ICQ me if you have some questions, I can go over the features, and show you some stats, and other demo sites.

Vox 10-20-2005 07:41 PM

Is it similar to this program? http://www.rsstoblog.com/

No not at all.

Blue_Spade 10-20-2005 07:51 PM

Just got done talking with Chio about it and placed my order . . . sounds like a great product

Chio 10-20-2005 07:57 PM

I just wanted to identify the features a bit using Mr Pheer's hockey site as an example. Some people are really uncertain how this whole system can benefit them.

Once the software is installed, and you've added your feeds, you go about setting up the linking system. Essentially you can link any word or phrase to anything you wish. Any number of keywords and links can be used. Once you pull the feeds the sitemapper kicks in, and builds a sitemap file for google and submits it.

The map is built automatically anytime an article is added or edited.

Articles links etc, can be edited, removed or add yourself at anytime.

OK so what now? Let's say you do a hockey site as Mr.Pheer did. Every article that's pulled in will have links auto created by the system. If a hockey players name is mentioned, or a team this could link out to Jerseys, Posters, Box office, etc. so within just a few days, you have a keyword content rich site filled with links out to affiliate programs.

This is a mainstream example, but can be applied to any site adult, mainstream, etc.

For more in depth info and demo sites including traffic stats ICQ me (in location)

I havent had time yet to setup the auto links, but I plan on it this weekend. I'm just thrilled that its pulling feeds and stuff everyday, I dont really have to touch this thing.

I had a problem getting it installed but support sent me a file to add. I also had to change some permissions on some files and folders but now all is good.

If you were waiting a while I appologize, he's been pretty swamped getting the orders out, also in the process of moving today. I am usually on so pop me a message if you need anything.

datatank 10-20-2005 08:53 PM

Looks pretty cool. So it takes an rss feed and makes a new post from it at any time you specify?

It's all automated 1 post or a thousand, it pulls it all in, links it up anyway you want, and keeps chugging along like a fulltime employee for life.

Can update as often as you wish, if the feed you pull is updated your site will be too.

Brujah 10-20-2005 09:15 PM

Some sites may have only a few related feeds you want to use, say only 2 out of the last 10. How do you handle those ? Do you just choose feeds where you know every item will match your site ? Does it support categories ? In order to vary the content more, has any thought gone into maybe rewriting the titles or content ?

Because it's wordpress anything can be edited or deleted. I do that with fandangos, and therefore makes my site more relevant than the one I am pulling from, as he posts a lot of fluff about trips, etc.

As for varying content... why? this only decreses the keyword density. Better to just create a blog for that second category then link them together.

No problem.

Just one quick question.

I only entered one URL when I signed up for the network version. Was I supposed to enter all 10 URLs then or just use the same file for each site?

I meant the title of the item, and text of the item.

Original: Check this out.
New: Hockey Gone Wild.

Since it's wordpress like you said though, I realize it'd be easy enough to back in and edit them to use better titles or add extra keywords in the text.

I'm just trying to compare it to ReBlog

Yeah I do that with fandangos. I like to keep them the same just for demo purposes to see the real results. I rank higher for almost all searches, so I think it's the density that seperates us

Vox 10-20-2005 10:13 PM

Will this work on any blogging script like Movable type 3.2?
Or is it limited to Wordpress

Chio is a class act. Anything that he does is done first class all the way. AutoBlogger is awesome, and I hope his next project involves some kind of baked good.

Currently just wordpress, as it is the most popular, and had a good number of themes. We may at some point port it to other blog engines.

So the hockey site gets an RSS feed from ESPN, as an example, and uses autoblogger to make links to a store selling jerseys.

Do you have to get permission from the provider of the RSS feed first?

Also, is there any practical limit to how many links you would want to stay under for performance reasons?

As Chio was getting pounded by a hurricane when I first asked this I thought I would try again. :)

YARGH! Damn storms. Any amount of links is possible I'm certain it is finite but I have some wordlists/links at over 3000 lines, as for linking out some keywords within the article, I've never had a problem. Most would only be annoyed if you were to alter any existing links.

Want to see if any one bought this yet and are having install problems. I am slowly tring to work this out but wanted to see if any one else has come accross it yet and has a fix.

I couldn't get it to install properly. I contacted support and they sent me a file to upload. Once uploaded I had to go in and change permissions on one or two folders and it was good to go.

No files are missing. There are files that are written during the install. If permissions are not set the script cannot write them so hence they do not exist. Contact me via ICQ, and I can help.
