Image Quality in Arles
Got a few folders with a lot of heavy images and thought I'd reduce them using arles as normal. Problem is, even though I set the quality to 10% in images they still end up the same size as the original images...
irritating and I'm a bit fed up :/ what am I doing wrong here? |
That's odd. Are you sure it's set to change the images?
Worst case, you could create an "Action" in Photoshop to bulk compress that folder that Arles creates for the final images. Just take an extra minute or two to do. You can manipulate the image better in PS anyway. |
yep, been setting/trying it again and again and still, no changes.. weird as hell since this is what I normally do..
any quick guide for doing it in photoshop instead? |
I don't think arles will actually change the quality unless you change the size... I think it just looks at dimensions first, and if they're the same, leaves it..

would the action in photoshop be file > script > image processor ? ... the default setting on quality is "5" .. meaning?

I found that anything under 52 starts to make the reds break up. But that's just me, I'm not a PS pro. I'm sure someone here knows a better way. windows >> show actions >> then when in actions, create new action and it will record EVERY MOVEMENT you make. When you are done, stop recording. The bring in your images and wham-bam them. |
