Reasonable pricing expectations for...
 

Trying to get a guage on what would be reasonable pricing expectations for some text grunt work.
Basicly looking at a set of pictures, writting up a one sentance description, then a paragraph or two description.
Then also price expectations for writting a full page story to go with a photo set.

Yes two seperate things here.
What should I expect?

Minimum wage for the first and $50 to $100, depending on the writer, per 1000 words for the second.

I just need to make damn sure they have a very good understanding of english as well as story telling.


Ok whos minimum wage, they do differ by state and area.
50.00 to 100.00 per 1000 words? Thats .05 to .10 per word man. Hell many large magazines do not even pay that much and they do not get to look at naked girls while doing it.

Oh I should also add in that there is a great deal of them that needs to be done.

I'm an adult web writer and I work with a bunch of writers on Sex-writer.com. I'm here to say you can always find some desperate guy who will do it for cheap, like 10 bucks for the whole lot. But like they say - you gotta spend money to make money, you get what you pay for etc.

Writing a story based on pictures isn't as easy as it sounds. I have writers who would do it for $20 per story (and that is cheap). 50 to 100 for a story is actually not at all out of line.

A writer will probably give you a break on a large quantity - but you have to be reasonable. There was a guy on Craigslist the other day offering 500 for 1000 (300 word) articles. That's 300,000 words (the size of 3 average novels) all for 500 bucks? It may sound good up front but when you break it down it's nuts.

I'd get one writer to do the whole thing (if they have to write the story, they can just abstract the one liners, etc.) Expect to pay between $25 and $50 per set of photos.

Minimum wage for the area the writer is from. For the second, you get what you pay for, a good writer is worth it. Being that they have pictures to work with and don't have to be completely custom, you should be able to get away with $50... if you want to be really cheap, again, depending on the writer, as low as $30..

I do this type of stuff all the time. I have a writing background and can do everything that you need. Basically I charge around $20 an hour. If you want contact me with how many of sets/stories/etc you need and I can give you a good quote on how much I would charge.
